Why am I here?

I watched as my parents packed my final stuff into the suitcase they found in the closet. I sighed and my father gave me a hard stare.

"Why are you going to send me off to a boarding school if you guys have enough money to pay for a private school over here?" I asked, my mother, sighed.

"Again, with the record you have, it is highly likely that they won't. Accept. You," she said sternly and I sighed.

Me? I was getting sent off to a boarding school in San Fransokyo, the state of technology. I'd say it was cool but then my friends would have called me lame. San Fransokyo was a mix of San Francisco and Tokyo, Japan (If it wasn't any more obvious), it was like taking San Frans J-town and just mixing the two to see how it would go. So far, the results looked good, and based on the school's numbers there, my parents thought it would be a good idea to send their own daughter to a boarding school in San Fransokyo to make her record look better.

"Look, Lei, think of it this way. You'll be graduating earlier than your usual class graduation time and you'll be graduating from one of the best schools in the nation! Not only will it look good on your record but ours too!" She said excitedly, I rolled my eyes and she sighed.

"Mom, with it being the 'best schools in the nation' I think I'm gonna fail this year since it's so hard," I said and she shook her head.

"That's nonsense, I raised a smart girl, and a smart girl you will be. Also when you get there make sure to take good care of granny Yuko, she has taken care of your father almost all of her life. Now, in turn, it has to be you to take good care of her," she said and I raised my eyebrows.

"But I don't even know where these places or granny Yuko's house is. I know she's lived in San Francisco for almost all her life and that a couple of years ago she was transferred to San Fransokyo, I don't know where all these places are," I said and my mom smiled.

"Don't worry, we made a map for you, we'll send it to you through your phone," my dad said and I looked at him.

"Now, now, Lei, if you throw a tantrum I'll have to take that phone away from you and give you the only phone that isn't so techie, now would you like that?" She asked and I said no, she smiled and I rolled my eyes.

"Well, you leave tomorrow morning Lei, you should get some rest, and wake up early tomorrow now," my dad said after he finished zipping up my suitcase and stood up. I nodded my head and watched the two walk out of my room and close the door behind them. Sighing I jumped on top of my bed my stomach growled lowly.

"Come on, it's only 9, your already hungry again?" I asked my stomach and it growled again. Sighing I stood up and went to the mini-fridge in the corner of the room. I opened it and grabbed out an Arizona green tea and opened the can. I put in on a nearby table and sat in the rolly chair and dragged it to my desktop. Grabbing my can I drank from it and entered the log in to my desktop and searched for the school I was going to
