Today was a Thursday and sleeping in sounded good until the alarm on my phone blared, I groaned. Sitting up in bed I grabbed my phone and stared at the clock on my phone. It read 9:45 and I rolled my eyes.
Did I set an alarm? I don't remember doing that
Sighing I laid back in bed and looked up at the ceiling, I held my phone and started looking through Instagram, but my phone started ringing, my eyebrows scrunched. I saw the caller ID as it was Kaylah and I smiled. I picked up the call.
"Hello?" I said and I heard rustling in the background.
"Hey, so how's the new place?" She said and I rolled my eyes.
"It's okay, I guess. Today is only my second day and I plan on roaming around the city more," I said and she laughed.
"Do you mind on taking pictures for me, I heard the place is so far ahead in technology, that cute guys keep migrating there," she said and I scoffed.
"What's this? Kaylah using vocabulary she's never used before?!" I said exaggerating and she scoffed.
"Shut up, anyways school is gonna start I'll talk to you later," she said and I hummed as she ended the call. Putting my phone down I snuggled myself into my sheets and was about to pass out again when my door opened and I looked up to see Kenta.
"Your grandmother is asking for you downstairs. There is breakfast," he said and I sighed letting my head hit the pillow again.
"I'll be down in a bit," I said and rubbed my face. Sitting up in bed I swept my feet over the side and walked over to my bathroom. It was mostly made of white marble, and it had a wonderful view out the window if you ever planned on having a bath instead of a shower. Standing at my sink I tied my hair into a loose bun and started my morning routine. After a nice wake-up call from getting ready I walked out and checked the time on my phone, it was almost 10 and I sighed. I took the elevator downstairs and walked to the kitchen. As I entered I saw my grandmother smile kindly at me as she had her hands wrapped around her cup of tea.
"Good morning dear," she said and I smiled at her.
"Morning grandma," I said as I sat across from her, she snapped her fingers and a plate appeared in front of me due to one of her servants bringing it over. I smiled at her and started eating, "Dear, since your new here I was thinking that maybe Daniel could show you around since his classes aren't until 6," she said and I almost choked on my food, I stared at her.
"Um, grandma, no thank you. I'll find my way around the city," I said after taking a drink from my orange juice. She smiled at me.
"Nonsense, let him show you around," she said I gave her a hard look.
"Grandma, are you trying to hook me up with all the guys you know? I must admit some of them are cute but none of them fit my ideal guy," I said and she raised her eyebrows.
"Look, I'm not asking for a grand-grandchild but I'm asking for you to find a man. How long have you've been single? When was the last time you went on a date," I sighed.
"Grandma, the last time I had a boyfriend was in my sophomore year, and that was a secret! I've never told anyone and we had to keep it on the down-low. I've never gone on a date before, never had my first kiss and anything relating to my sophomore dating life wasn't even real," I said she gave me a soft look, "I'd like to focus on my studies. Yeah I've seen a few cute guys here and there but, I'm just not ready for dating," I said and she shook her head.
"But still, you're close to graduating Lei, it's almost time for you to find that special someone," she said I shook my head.
"I still have college, remember?" I said and she smiled.
