As Cold As Mala's Heart

Upon hearing Belle’s request, Parker turned to Hava. “See, Hava. That doesn’t sound like anything bad to me. Quit your worryin’, I bet they even have cake!”

Hava, still a bit shaken, replied to Parker’s statement by saying, “Oh, alright, Parker. But if something – anything at all – happens, it’s all your fault. I hope you’re prepared for what might happen.”

“Sure, whatever. Now come on; you don’t want to miss cake, do you?” Parker asked anxiously.

After a little convincing, Hava and Parker bounced into the Nature Room hand in hand. It was apparent that they intended to skip around the room, but they were stopped in their tracks when they saw the evil gleaming in Mala’s eyes. Their smiles started to fade, but not before Belle let her jealous side escape. Their happiness simply made her sick, and she showed this fact when she opened her mouth and mimed a gag. She was quickly snapped out of her jealousy, however, when she remembered the whole reason Hava and Parker were in the room anyway. “Get ‘em, Mala!” Belle screamed. Well, as much as a girl of her size could, anyway.

Mala inspected her golden staff one last time before lifting it into the air. Hava and Parker simultaneously gasped at the sight of such a thing.

“W-What’s going on?” Hava sputtered out.

“Shut up, you foolish girl. All will be well soon,” Mala replied. The evil in her voice was extremely powerful. This caused Parker’s eyes to widen in fear and look over at Hava. Little did he know, it would be his last look at Hava.

Mala simply let a faint grin crawl across her face. She sealed her threat by ensuring her firm grasp on the staff before rotating the golden ball on the end of the rod. As she swirled it around and around, a deep purple mist materialized into the room. It was the perfect color for such an evil, disastrous event. The ever-present fear in Hava and Parker continued to grow exponentially with each passing swirl. The whipping sound of the staff roared in everyone’s ears, which aided the tension in the room. Belle’s attention was also focused above, staring at the magic happening before her eyes in wonder and amazement. As white hot as her hatred for Hava burned, Belle knew that she would never be able to actually produce the evil magic herself. Mala even had to admit that she was gaining a sense of joy out of the ordeal herself, too.

When the wicked tone in the room was satisfactory enough for Mala, she blurted out the words that took her so long to compose the night before. “Look here, what do we see? A girl so far misled. By all the power in me, I make Hava dead.”

Hava barely had time to gasp before she was frozen solid. Belle couldn’t help but think that Hava’s now-frozen face was most unflattering. But, in a similar form to Hava, her thoughts were frozen before they were vocalized. Hava disappeared into thin air, leaving a certain sense of emptiness in the room as the tension broke.
