"Oh my god, did you see what she was wearing last night." Greta says. We all laugh.

"I know right! I almost threw up on her but it looked like somebody already did." I say. We all laugh again.

"Girls, if I have to tell you to be quiet one more time I'll split you up." Our substitute math teacher yells as the entire class looks at us. We all make eye contact with each other then roll our eyes while laughing loudly. "And that's it" She starts. "Y/n go sit next to mr. Tozier. Greta go sit next to ms. Simpson." She commands. Our mouths spring open.

"Richie?" I state wide eyed and angered.

"Yes, do you have a problem with that?" She states.

"It's not that I don't like him. It's just... I can't stand him." I reply hastily, my friends chuckle.

"Well I'll have no problem sitting you next to me." She smirks as I scoff. This woman was a short, skinny thing who smelt like she swam in rotting fish guts. I scrunch my nose in disgust as I reluctantly pick up my things and drag my feet over to the seat next to Richie.

"Oh look, the two trash mouths are finally together." Some random kid yells who was sitting the closest to the trash can. I glance at the bin.

"I guess if we're being sat next to the people we're most alike you belong perfectly next to that trash can." I yell as I point to the garbage. The class laughs.

"Speaking of that, who missed the garbage can when they went to throw you in?" Richie adds. I couldn't help but laugh along with the class at this point. The boy's ex girlfriend lifts up her hand.

"It was me." She smirks.

"That's enough!" The supply yells causing us to stop laughing. I glance at Richie and smile slightly, then we remember who we are and face the front again and look down. I cross my arms and he pushes up his thick glasses. "So who wants a detention?" She says. "I think I'll give one to y/n! And Richie!" She says happily.

"But-" We start to say.

"Make that two?" She phrases as a question.

"Make that three." Richie yells. The teacher looks taken back as the class 'ooos'. He winks at my causing me to smile, I tuck a loose strand of hair behind my ear.

"Fine, I'll be calling your parents as well." She says.

"Have fun with that." I smile and the class continues to 'oo'.

"Silence." She smashes a ruler on her desk which causes it to break. We all try containing our laughter.

"Make that four detentions for you two. Does anyone else want one." She asks sternly. "Didn't think so."

The teacher goes on about some project that our real teacher left for her. "You'll be going with the person beside you." She says.

"What?!" I yell.

"Is there a problem with that?" She says innocently and smirks. I glare at her and she turns away smiling. I decide to shut up this time.

The bell rings. Finally.

"So do you want to come over tonight? I don't think my parents will be home." Richie says.

"Oh honey, this isn't some story where I go over to your house to do some project and we end up falling madly in love." I say. He furrows his eyebrows. "We'll do it at lunch." I smirk and what away to Greta and Sally who are also smirking. Richie stands there stunned.

"What was that about?" Eddie walks up to Richie. Richie walks away and doesn't answer him. "Wow, Richie Tozier doesn't have a smart comment." Eddie walks by Richie. "That girl must have magical powers." Eddie continues making fun of Richie.
