I open my eyes but immediately squinting, because of the bright light in front of me. For a split second I thought I was dead until my eyes adjusted to the light and I looked around to see i was in I white room full of beeping contraptions.
I look around until my eyes fall upon my leg that has been suspended up into the air. It felt as if somthing was suffocating that part of my body till I realized that there was a big purple cast on it.
I sighed and let my head sink into the pillow and turned my head towards the door to the room and nearly jumped out of my skin by what I saw. I couldn't believe that I didn't notice as soon as I woke up but there sitting in the corner of the room asleep in what looked like a very uncomfortable chair was Nathan.
I scanned the whole room for anyone else that might be in here but eyes eventually came back to the boy in the corner. I smiled but then suddenly realization washed over me. What day is it? What happend? Is anyone else here?
My memory was still fuzzie and I couldn't remember anything from the events that took place. I looked over at the stand besides me and saw that there was water there so I assumed it was ment for me and went to grab it and of course I knocked it onto the ground. I watched in horror and the glass hit the ground and shattered into a million pieces.
I quickly looked at Nathan whos eyes were now open and staring at me. I didn't know what to do so I just smiled sheepishly and awkwardly waved.
His expression changed suddenly to relif and his face relaxed and he went to get up but the door flew open and two girls walked in tripping over each other in there heals and mascara lines down their faces with scarlet cheeks. I cringed at the sudden noise that filled the once silence room. But I realized it was Emma and Anna who obviously were a wreck stumbled toward my and smothered me with hugs and questions.
"Wow,wow,wow, slow down." I laughed
But they didn't listen, and couldn't blame them, if I saw one of my good friends like this I would look like a train wreck. Then it hit me. Oh no. How do I look? There's two different scenarios. 1: I'm wearing who knows how old probably sumuged makeup or 2: they whipped my face clean and with my luck I probably have acne right now.
Worried I looked form Nathan now standing behind the girls, from Emma and Anna. I looked around for some kind of mirror but nothing. I quickly tried to get out of the bed disregarding the wires and the freaking cast on my foot and I was almost up to befor I stared to lose my balance and the pain was unbearable from the sudden pressure on my foot. I fell back down on the bed and sighed in defeat. I looked up I saw three people looking down at me the twins were snickering and there was a shade of pink beginning to appear on Nathan's cheeks.
"What's so funny?" I demanded
"Well you see.." Anna started
"There's no back to a hospital gown." Emma finished
It feelt like my cheeks were on fire everyone in this room just saw my butt and I didn't even realize it.
"Why did you want to get up anyway?" Anna questioned
"Well Um you see..." I stammered
They all look at my with questioning looks. I felt so embarrassed and didn't know how to explain why I was trying to get up without making myself sound stupid.
"Ugh, ok fine I'll tell you but you'll think I'm self obsorbed and stupid." I warned then
"It's ok and everyone's been self obsorbed or stupid at one point in there life" Emma said encouragenly
I.... I was wanting to see if my face looked all right." I whispered
"Is that all." Anna laughed
"Well Um yeah."
"Well from the looks of it they took off all your makeup, so there's nothing on it right now." Emma answered
Shoot! This seriously can't be happening right now. Sure the twins have seen me without makeup on befor but Nathan hasn't, and now my freckles that are usually hidden are now dotted across my fac. I never liked them but the twins disagree and tell me they wish they had freckles but that's just there opion.
I look over st Nathan whos been waiting patiently for the twins to stop talking. I smiled but then remember about the face thing and quickly feel embarrassed so I did the only I thing I can think of.
"So umm sorry you have to see me like this I probably don't look at appealing right now." I sputtered
He look taken aback at what I said and started to laugh.
"Well that's not the reaction I had in mind." I sadly said
"I'm sorry for laughing, it's just funny that you really think that about yourself." He replied
"Think what?" I demanded
"That your ugly when your the most beautiful person I've ever laid eyes on with or without makeup."
I felt my cheeks returning to there favorite color of red again. I can't believe he said that, he's so sweet.
"Even with freckels?" I stated
"Definitely with the freckles."
"Awwwwwww!" The twins yelled
That when the doctor came through the doors and looked right at me
"Ah, so your awake.... Ms. Ava Mills?" he said annoyed
"Um yeah." I glared
" So can I leave?"
"I suppose but your going have to take a subscription of pain pills."
"Okay sounds easy enough." I said
"Oh one more thing, we're going to need your parents signature for you to be able to leave." He stated
Yelp looks like I'm never leaving I thought. Mom's never home she's always in New York working and rarely ever home for more then a couple of days every couple of months. And I don't know my dad, mom always said he left when I was born and she's never heard from him again. But the doctor doesn't know that.
"Can you give me a moment?" I asked
" I guess that's ok." As he walks out of the room.
I turned back to rest of my friends.
"Well your doomed." Emma said Jokingly
"I know, and I don't feel like being here for months so got any ideas?"
There's was a brief silence till Anna's face lit up and pointed at here and said shoot.
"Well I was thinking since Mrs. Morgan got you into this mess technically, why don't you call her and ask her to come down and pretend to be your mom?" Anna stated
"Omgosh your a genius! I need my phone someone please."
I diled the nerve and she picked up on the second ring.
"Hey Mrs. Morgan it's Ava calling from the hospital and I was wondering if you could do me a favor?"
"Oh sweetie anything for you, I feel so bad for you going to the hospital." She replied
"Okay so here's the thing they won't let me out they need my mom's signature and she's in New York for who knows how long and I was wondering if you'd come down and pretend to be my mom and before you say any it is technically your fault I'm here right now."
There's was I long period of silence befor she spoke again.
"Oh.... well I guess it couldn't hurt to try." She said
"Omgosh tank you!" I said then hung up the phone
"I'm guessing she agreed?" Nathan said with a smirk
I smiled "She sure did."
