Luke's POV

I couldn't care less if Ash and I were acting as more than friends. Honestly, I really like it.

"Luke." Ashton says, poking my face.

"Hey, Ash." I chuckle.

"We've been laying here for 2 hours now," He says. "I'm kinda bored, but I also kinda like this."

I don't even try to hide my smile this time.

"Well I think we're meeting the boys soon for band practice. I hope it goes well." I say, and Ashton tenses up and looks terrified.

"Band practice...? What if I don't remember how to play the drums?" He looks down at his lap.

"I think you'll do fine. Maybe you'll be a little rusty, but I'm sure you'll get it. We're going on tour soon." I inform him.

He looks me dead in the eyes with the most worried expression on his face.

"T... Tour...?" He whispers.

Ashton's POV

I can't express how nervous I am for band practice. I'm gonna mess up...

What if I don't remember anything about playing the drums? Oh, God, the boys will be so dissapointed in me.

I don't want to dissapoing anyone.

When the time comes that Luke and I are on our way to the studio - wherever that is - I'm completely silent with anxiety. Of course, I want to get back on track, but I'm so nervous.

We walk in and everything's set up, Michael and Calum are already here. We're sitting and waiting while I listen to our music for the millionth time. I've been listening to the songs, and I've got the words and drums memorized.

Now, I just have to play it.

+++

I'm now sitting behind the drums and I'm already breathing irregularly.

I watch Luke as he slings on his guitar and plugs it in. He counts off to the song, and it's almost time for me to play.

Here it comes...

I try to hit the drums, but I miss almost all the beats and hit the wrong ones.

Michael cringes and turns around, as well as Luke and Calum.

Everyone is looking at me and I feel a lump in my throat. Luke gives me a sympathetic look.

"I..."

I can't speak.

"I'm... I'm sorry guys..."

Michael bites his lip, Calum and Luke nod.

"Let's try again, shall we?" Calum says.

Luke counts off once again.

This time it's even worse than before, I totally forget to play because I'm caught up in the rest of the music.

I'm completely out of touch, I can't focus at all. I motion for them to stop.

"Are you okay, Ash?" Luke says, he looks genuinely concerned.

Adam, our manager, comes out of the soundbooth. He looks exhausted.

"Ashton, what's going on? What the hell happened?" He says, earning a look from Michael.

I open my mouth to say something but Luke speaks before me.

"He had an accident... It may have erased a good majority of his memory." He says.

"I honestly don't care. Ashton, get it together or else." He says.

I'm shocked by Adam's words. He's never been like that before. He walks back out, leaving us all speechless.

"Wow..." Michael says.

My eyes dart around to the three of them.

"What did he mean by 'or else'? Am I getting kicked out of the band?" I say.

No one says anything, and this just feeds my anger.

"Would someone please say something?!"

"I doubt you're getting kicked out. Adam's probably just having a bad day. Lets keep trying."

And with that, we continue our failure of a band practice.

+++

It's been three hours of me screwing up.

Three. Hours.

Three hours, and I've not done one thing right.

Everyone looks tired, and not to mention frustrated.

"I think we should go home." Calum says.

Before anyone says anything more, I stand up and bolt.

I run out of the studio hearing Luke shout my name. I run down streets I don't know, and before I know it I'm sobbing under a tree next to a stream of sorts.

I am tearing the band apart. I don't even remember why I fell. It's ruining my life.

I feel my phone vibrate in my back pocket, and it's Luke calling me. I stare at his picture on my screen as the small device vibrates in my palm. Soon enough, I have a voicemail from him.

"Ash, please come home. We're worried about you. We... Uh, we know we made you feel pretty crappy back there in the studio. I'm sorry, I really am. Just... Please come back home. You're probably lost, do you know where you are? Sorry... Um, yeah. Please come home. I miss you."

I don't want to face them. I want to stay here and be alone, where I belong.
