Chapter 57

Elise P.O.V.

"Elise? Baby girl do you ever check your mail?" Karoline whined.

Karoline walked in holding a big bin full of unread mail. I sighed as I took a glance at her and then went back to typing on my computer. Lately, I've been getting this feeling that someone is watching me. I talked about it with August but he says it's just my nerve from what happened before.

"No, I haven't checked my mail in a long time." I told her, "I've been so caught up in work that they haven't crossed my mind."

"Well Ima read a couple to you." She said.

I nodded my head as I typed away on my computer as I barely listen to her read the mail. Right now I was more focus on getting this deal so that I can bring home more money. However, she read one that caught my full undivided attention.

"Hey Elise, it's Amber. I know it's been a minute since we spoke, but I just wanted to know how you been holding up? I'm coming back to see you soon, and I just want you to be prepared. With much love, Amber." Karoline read out.

I looked at and took a deep breath.

She scrunched up her nose, "This Amber girl sounds like a creep. You know her?"

"Yea, I know her alright." I said raking my hand through my hair.

"Can you take over for the rest of the day, I got stuff I have to handle." I looked at Karoline with a pleading face.

She looked at me and rolled her eyes before she nodded her head yes. I squealed before I gave her a hug telling her thank you. Grabbing my purse and the letter from Amber I walked out my office.

Once I was out the building, I went to my car to see another note on my window. I frowned when I got it and it once again said from Amber. Opening it up, I read it silently before sticking it in my purse along with the other one. After I got in the car, I made my way to August's job so that him and I can talk about this.

Arriving at his job, I got out the car and headed inside. I was greeted by his receptionist who I smiled and waved at. My only focus right now was getting to August. So I went to the elevator and went up to his floor and walked right into his office. August was in a deep conversation on the phone. He looked up at me and smile before he gestured for me to take a seat.

I took a seat in front of him and sat there patiently for him to get off the phone. Once he was off the phone he turned hisself towards me and smiled brightly.

"Hey baby." August smiled, "How you feeling?"

I sighed, "Hey babe, and I wish I could say good. What about you?"

"I'm kinda stress, but it's nothing that daddy can't handle. What's wrong with you ma?" He questioned.

I rummaged through my purse before I found the letters that Amber wrote to me. Looking down at the ink that was on the paper that made script I began to cry. Amber was once again after me, and that shook me to the core. Last time she was here we didn't quite meet eye to eye. It ended up with me getting shot in the stomach and losing one of my babies.

August got up from behind the desk and took the letters out of my hand. He slowly began to read them and seeing the way he clenched his jaw that means he was angry. Wiping my tears, I wrapped my arms around him. I whispered softly that it was going to be okay.

"Are you crazy Elise? Your pregnant and this is not okay!" August huffed.

I bit my lip, "We got to see the bright side in this."

"What bright side?" He swing his arms wildly, "She is literally stalking you and trying to kill you."

I looked down at my feet as I played with my thumbs. He had a point, Amber was out to kill me and I was pregnant. There wasn't a lot of positive outputs in this situation.

"She gave us a warning August. That means she is giving us enough time to prepare." I tried to calm him down.

He shook his head, "Aint no need to prepare for shit, because when I see her I'm blowing her fucking head off."

August was fuming and this side of him scared me. He had took his tie off and had the first few of his work shirt unbutton. Also he done raked his hand through his hair countless times leaving it messy. I looked at him and sighed as I looked out the window. Honestly, I didn't know what we were going to do. We didn't know what she had plan or what she was plotting.

It seems like something always comes up to ruin my peace of mind. August family leaves tomorrow morning, they been with us all week. And something tells me that right after August family leaves something is gonna pop off. Amber told us to prepare, and that's what we need to do. We don't need no distractions.

"August you can't let this get to you." I said softly. "We are having twins in a few weeks and it's our job to keep them safe. Amber is playing mind games, she want us to get distracted. We can't let her get to us, she told us to prepare. So we gotta prepare."

August looked out the window as he took on everything i said. He took his bottom lip between his teeth before he looked over at me.

"Elise? Do you trust me?" August questioned.

I looked at him, "Uh. Yea. I do."

August nodded his head before he sat back down in his desk making another phone call.
