Thank you so much for all those great comments! I was supposed to update this Friday, but thought I'd do it today. Again, thank you so much!

I knocked on the door of my cabin and opened. I shrugged and walked in.
"Who's there?", my mom yelled from the kitchen.
"It's me!"
"How was the beach?", she hollered.
"Amazing."
"Made any new friends?"
"Austin...", I said, flashing the image of his green eyes...messy brown hair...I was in the middle of my reverie when my mom began to speak.
"Is that the name of the dog?", she said sternly, her hands on her hips as she leaned against the kitchen door.
I looked down at my arms. Coco was resting on them, gently licking my arm. He was so light. I had forgot he was even there. I looked up at my mom, her eyebrows raised as to say, "Any explanations?"
I sighed. "He's Coco...I found him by the beach. He looked so weak. I thought maybe we could help him." I looked at my mom hopefully. "Please?"
She bit her lip.
"He's harmless!"
She walked closer and gently patted Coco. He glanced at her and she smiled.
"That's not the thing" She sighed. "We just moved here today honey. I don't know if we can manage a dog in the house"
"I'll take care of him. I'll do everything. Take care of all of it. Please?"
She looked at me as I widened my eyes and pouted.
She lift up her index finger. "One night. Only a night. Then we'll see."
I smiled hard and jumped twice. "Oh thank you, thank you, thank you!", I said quickly.
I leaned in to hug her, but realized Coco was in my arms. I grinned sheepishly and walked to my room.
I turned the lights off and cocooned myself within the bedcovers and next to Coco. It was a long day and within minutes, I was fast asleep.
"NICOLE! Wake up!", my mom yelled as she kept hitting me on the shoulder.
"Go away mom", I murmured, putting the pillow over my face.
"You're going to be late honey! Get up!", she said, trying to remove the blanket which was tightly gripped by my legs.
"For what?", I winced.
"For school smarty"
I opened my eyes at once and got up instantaneously. I looked at my mom.
"WHAT?", I shrieked.
My mom smiled and went to make her way out the room.
"Rise and shine Evans! It's time for another new day!", she began to sing.
I got dressed pretty quick actually. I didn't really bother looking good ; it wasn't like it even mattered. I gave myself a quick look in the mirror. A green cami over my skinny jeans. My brown hair let out over my shoulders ; not 'cause I wanted to look pretty but becuase my shower broke in the morning and my hair was all wet. I smiled. I was all set for another fail first day of school.
I looked out the window as my mom drove to school. She looked at me and sighed. "Come on Nicole. I'm sorry. I just forgot to tell you."
I sighed.
"It's 'kay mom. Really. No biggie.", I said. Well really. It didn't matter.
"Good. I'm happy."
After a minutes silence, she gasped, which sort of freaked me.
"What?", I asked.
"You didn't tell me about...about..."
"About what?"
"About that Aaron."
"Who's Aaron?"
She looked at me, taken aback. "The guy you met on the beach"
"Oh", I said. I looked back at her. "And it's Austin. Not Aaron."
"Oh whatever. Austin, Aaron - the same. Now tell me, is he cute?"
I flushed. "MOM!"
"Sorry Niks", she said whilst laughing. "Hey look! We're here!", she squealed, looking out the window.
I looked out the window as the car rolled down the school's driveway. My stomach flipped as I saw the sign, 'Welcome to SCRIPPS HIGH"
The car screeched to a halt and I winced.
"I'll pick you up at three. 'kay?"
She noticed my nerve and patted me on the shoulder.
"It'll be alright hon. Need any help?"
I took a breath and kissed her on the cheek.
"I'll be fine", as I got out of the car.
Well there I was, at Scripps High.

I know. I know it's really short. But I have a math test tomorrow so yep. I'm actually half-done with my story in my notebook, it's just I have to type it out which takes a while.
Will update as fast as I can!
