Andrew.

Damn!

The woman was gorgeous.

Our eyes had crossed each other more than once, and I was the one to turn away, my face turning red.

I couldn't get distracted though.

I was on a mission.

I am a Hunter. And unlike all the others, I have the power of blood possession. A gift I inherited from my no good king of a father.

At the moment, I was following a rogue witch. He had decided to instigate a few witches against their coven.

They, because of me, had died.

Now only he remained.

He was wearing an onyx ring on his left index finger that protected him from any metal weapons and gave him his disguise.

So I couldn't use my favourite metal double edged sword to slice him in half.

But I had my blood.

No one could stop that. As long as it flowed in my system.

'Have you gotten a visual on the witch?' My partner's stern voice spoke from the small hidden earpiece.

I gave him a silent yes and moved closer to the witch.

Once again I felt her eyes on me.

Instinctively, I twisted my head to spot her smiling and flashing a perfect set of pearly whites as her eyes met mine.

She was laughing.

I don't know at what.

It was then that I noticed the blonde man standing next to her and chatting with her freely.

A sudden wave of jealousy filled me.

Who was the man making my woman smile like that?

She was mine.

She was my mate.

I looked at the witch in front of me.

I grabbed his arm and silently pulled him outside.

There I removed, forcefully the ring and cut his  head off.

My job was done.

I walked back into the museum.

My eyes instantly fell to the corner.

She was gone.

My mate was gone.

And I didn't know her name.

Why did I have to see her today?

Why not when I was free?

But if our love was destined by the heavens, then we would meet again.

I just had to be patient.
