01 | "i love you"

"I love you" was your first lie.

'Finally, I could sleep properly..' Chaeyoung thought as she gazed at the buildings they were passing by.

After a whole month of promotions and busy schedules, the girls could finally have their well deserved rest. As soon as they arrived at their dorm from their very last music show performance, the girls immediately dispersed.

Chaeyoung plopped herself on the couch and let out a sigh of relief. She felt like she could finally breathe properly; the lack of sleep and huge amount of stress she was experiencing for the past few weeks have made it impossible for her to relax.

She laid on her stomach as she fished out her phone from her pocket. She glided her thumb across the screen, unlocking the device. As if on cue, a notification was seen on the top of the screen; it was a message from her boyfriend, Jungkook.

Yes, the main vocalist of BLACKPINK was dating another main vocalist, who happens to be part of the famous boy group, BTS. Everything started back at the Melon Music Awards, when both of them met backstage. Chaeyoung bumped into Jungkook when she was heading back to their dressing room, and it just so happens that she was carrying a water bottle; this resulted into her to accidentally ruin the male's outfit. Chaeyoung felt extremely bad and decided to exchange numbers with him so that she could find a way to make it up to him for ruining his evening.

She was also very much aware of the consequences if the two were caught, but she was willing to risk it all because she loves him wholeheartedly. Back to the story, Chaeyoung felt giddy as she opened up the messenger app;

Are you free right now?

She turns to Lisa after reading the message. The orange haired female was trying her hardest trying to gain Dalgom's attention whilst looking extremely silly at the same time. Chaeyoung couldn't help but laugh as she watches Lisa stumble as she tried to impersonate Jisoo.

"Yah, Lisa." She calls out, gaining the female's attention.

"Yeah?" Lisa responds.

"We're free tonight, right?"

Lisa thought for awhile before answering Chaeyoung with a nod. "Yeah.." She says, "We'll be meeting with the CEO tomorrow though."

"Okay..." Chaeyoung then leans back against the couch, trying her very best not to grin as she responds to Jungkook's text.

Chaeyoung then shifts to another position as she waits for Jungkook's reply;

Great. I actually want to spend some time with you 💖 Let's meet at the usual spot. Be careful on your way though~

Chaeyoung couldn't hide her excitement anymore. She practically jumped out of the couch and ran to her room to get changed.

"Where are you going?" Lisa asked as she watches Chaeyoung rushing to the door whilst putting on a jacket that seemed too large for her figure.

"I'll be hanging out with my sister!" Chaeyoung then quickly puts on her shoes. Once they were on, she left the dorm; she didn't even bother to look back at Lisa and say 'goodbye'.

The orange haired female sighed as she looks at Dalgom, who obviously looked bored. "She's been acting weird lately.." Lisa says, concerned laced in her tone.

Meanwhile...

Jungkook huffs as he adjusts his mask, pulling it upward so that no one would be able to recognise him quickly. He then looks around, searching for his girlfriend.

'I think I told her to come to Han River, right?' He fishes out his phone from his pocket and checks the messages.

Whilst he was busy reading previous messages, a certain brunette was slowly creeping towards him.

Chaeyoung could've approached Jungkook like any normal girlfriend would, but being the extra person she is, she decided that scaring the male would be way more fun than just saying 'hello'. So here she was, slowly creeping her way until she was close enough to jump on him.

Just as she was about to pounce on him, her cellphone rang; which ultimately ruined her 'surprise attack'. Chaeyoung froze in her spot when she saw Jungkook shifting his body to turn to her direction. The male look unamused. He clearly knew what Chaeyoung was planning, just by looking at her awkward pose.

"You know you could never scare me." Jungkook stated, as he shoves his phone back into his pocket.

Chaeyoung broke out from her awkward stance to pout at the male. "I was this close to scaring you." She said, bringing her index finger and thumb closer.

Jungkook scoffs before he pulls Chaeyoung into a hug. He nuzzles against the crook of her neck, inhaling her sweet scent. "I really missed you." He mumbles.

Chaeyoung gladly returns the hug and nuzzles her head in Jungkook's chest. "Yeah, I missed you too." She mumbles.

They both released after a few seconds. Jungkook then puts his arm around Chaeyoung, "Shall we go, m'lady?" He says, imitating the accent.

Chaeyoung laughs as she nods in response. "Of course." She says and gestures her boyfriend to lead the way.

After two hours of fun, it was already time for them to part ways.

Chaeyoung did not want their date to end though and she was quite sure that the latter felt the same, judging by the look he was giving her when they already arrived at a nearby bus stop.

Just when Chaeyoung was about to say something, Jungkook pulled her into a tight embrace. "I don't want you to go yet." He whispers.

Tears started to form in Chaeyoung's eyes as she feels her heart ache from hearing those words. She tried her very best to hold it in, but when Jungkook pulled away, she couldn't help but let it all flow down.

"I'm sorry Kookie-ah." Chaeyoung's says, looking at Jungkook in the eyes. She then cups his face, "But it has to be this way."

A bus then pulls up, ruining the moment between them. Chaeyoung sighs, before letting go of Jungkook, "I'll text you when I get back." She says sadly before planting a kiss on Jungkook's cheek.

She was about to walk away when Jungkook grabbed her on the wrist and gently pulled her back.

"I love you."

Chaeyoung pauses for awhile before smiling at the male,

"I love you too."
