The Princess & The Dragon

Chapter 7 Heartbreak & Misery 4 years later

It had been 4 years of Lucy's life, every night she would sneak out to go and see her dragon who she loved and valued so much. Overtime she learned new things and knew more about the dragon himself and how he became how he was now. He had been put under a spell by a witch named Lisanna. Lucy could remember that story very well, it was like he just told her yesterday.

Flashback to the day of March 12, 707. Nastu and Lucy are sitting under the pretty Sakura tree, Lucy is leaning on Natsu listening to his story as she played with strands of her hair. "After I met her we usually hung out everyday and had a happy life with our families. We then ended up dating, but soon after did I find out what this girl was really about." Natsu said looking down at Lucy. "What was it that you found out?" Lucy asked looking at her beloved dragon. "She was really out for my family and I, she wanted our money and to kill us after she got what she wanted. I had overheard her talking to her sidekick Bixlow I believe his name was. After I found this out I had told myself to confront her." Natsu says looking at the sky with a frustrated look he then proceeded with his story. "One day I had confronted her about it, and after her agreeing to my statement she had a look of sadness and disappointment. I then broke up with her, but then that's when it happened. Before I could leave I remember her exact words. She told me 'Fine break my heart, but if I can't have you or your money then we shall perish together.' After she said those words bixlow came out and dumped a potion on me as well as Lisanna and himself. She said some chant and I remember glowing pink then Bixlow and Lisanna both turned into dust fading off into the distance but me, that didn't happen. I ended up turning into a dragon. And that's how I became this. My worst regret was meeting her and falling into her trick. Now I'm stuck like this forever." He said finishing off his story. Lucy looked at him and stood up and put her forehead to his. "That is terrible that you are like this, and I'll always be by your side forever and always. I'll be loyal and faithful, and I don't care what form you take. Because I'll always love you." Lucy says smiling. "As do I to you m'lady. I vow from this day on to love and protect you for as long we live." Natsu said with a smile. As the night went on they both laughed and had the best night of their lives.

Back to the present time of August 2, 711. That day was the best day of Lucy's life. She soon got ready for the day, today she had put on a nice white slim but with the littlest bit of poof. It had gold lining along with gold lace around the waist of the dress. It was a long sleeve dress and a small v cut neck on it. On the back it had white lace going all the way down the top of the dress that went down to her waist. She had on some gold flats with a red ruby gem at the top on the shoe. She had on a silver locked with a picture of Layla, Jude, and Lucy on it when she was a kid and happier. After she was done getting ready she then sat down to write a letter to her mom.

Dear Mom,

I miss you so much, a lot has changed in these past few years since you've been gone. Dad is still the way he is, mean, abusive, and forceful. He is a lot to handle and deal with. He makes me hate being a princess all the time. But there is someone who I've been meeting during the night. His name is Natsu and he's a fire dragon, he uses magic like me! Isn't that amazing? He's really nice and cool to hang out with. Anyways I hope you have a nice time without us. I miss you so much and there is never a day where I don't miss for your return but I know you'll never come back. I love you so much mom.

"LUCY!" Lucy heard Jude call, knowing it's her dads I'm pissed call she puts the letter away in a nice envelope and puts it in the box with the other letters she's written her mother over the years. Lucy then runs downstairs careful not to trip on her dress making her way to her father. Soon she makes it to her father standing in front of him looking at him in the eye her hands behind her back in a proper manner. "Yes Father?" She asks politely. "I know what you have been doing Lucy and I forbid it!" Her father says giving her a stern look. "What are you talking about?" Lucy asks frightened "you've been seeing that dragon huh?" He says looking at her with a evil smirk. "How did you?--" Lucy starts. "I had been wondering where you have been when you leave at night so I had someone follow you and monitor what you've been doing. So far this is it." He says laughing evilly. "I--" Lucy says again being cut off. "I don't want to hear it. I forbid you to see him ever again!" Jude exclaims. "But--" "do you understand Lucy?" He says as Lucy turns away. "No father, you can't keep me from seeing him, and you can't stop me!" She says and runs off to her room. "Lucy!" Her father yells chasing after her. After she makes it up to her room she shuts her door and drags a chair up to it to keep the door from opening, she grabs her key belt strapping it around her waist as she walks to her window and opens it going out to the ledge shutting the door behind her. She then jumps from the ledge landing on a tree climbing down from the tree branch making it safely to the ground unharmed. She then begins to run to the forest not looking back. Meanwhile with Jude he is struggling to open the door but somehow manages to open it with force breaking the chair behind that door into pieces he enters his daughters room seeing her gone. "Lucy!" He says in an angered voice knowing she's gone he then walks to his room bursting open the door and grabbing his rifle walking to the stairs going down them quickly before making it to the front door. He opens it with a harsh tone loading the gun before running off to the forest after Lucy. Back with Lucy as she makes it to their special spot yelling for Natsu in a hurry. "Natsu!" She yells out, he soon comes out looking at her. "Yes princess? Something wrong?" He asks looking at her. "Yes! My dad found out that I was sneaking out to see you and forbidden me to see you but then I told him no and ran off and now I think he's after us!" Lucy exclaims out of breath. "Don't worry everything is going to be ok princess, don't worry." Natsu reassures her smiling at her, when they start to feel better and calm that's when Jude come up behind them. "Aha!" He yells scaring both of them as they both look at him. "Father?! What are you doing here?!" She asks frightened. "I came to stop this madness once and for all! Since you don't want to obey by my rules you shall be executed!" He exclaims with a crazy smile on his face pointing the rifle at Lucy. "Father no!" She says looking at her father with pleading eyes. "Since you both love each other then you shall die together, I never wanted a daughter anyways. Now say goodbye." He says and fires right at Lucy but before it could hit her Natsu moves in front of her getting hit directly in the heart falling to the ground. "Natsu!" Lucy yells out running to the now injured and dying dragon. "No!" She cries out on her knees by Natsu tears streaming down her face as she looks at him holding his head. "D-Don't c-cry Lu-Lucy....." Natsu says with half lidded eyes holding on for as long as he can. "I can't stop Natsu, I'm crying because I love you and I don't want you to die." Lucy responds in a sad tone looking at him. "I-I'd rather it b-be me th-than y-you." He says with a smile on his face. "W-Why? Why would you risk your life for me?" She asks looking down at him. "B-Because I swore an oath, o-one that I-I will always k-keep, I swore that I w-would p-protect you t-till the day I die, and I don't have much to live f-for anyways....live your life to the f-fullest a-and be free....L-Lucy I will always love you...." Natsu says as he slowly closes his eyes his body starts to glow pink again as he slowly starts to disappear. "I-I love you too Natsu...." she says as she covers her face with her hands and begins to cry. "Well I guess that's one way to say goodbye." Jude says coldly the rifle never leaving his side. Lucy stands up and turns around standing up facing her father tears rolling down her face. "Your a horrible man! I hate you! If mom was alive she would be disappointed in you and at everything you've done!" She yells at him, Jude looks at her with wide eyes "Don't you dare bring your mother into this!"He shouts back. "Well its true! If mother was alive you wouldn't be doing this and you know she wouldn't like the way you've treated me and the people I love! The maids think so too! You are just a cold heartless man that no one will ever like and a horrible king!" She yells as him again. "Shut your mouth! Ever since you've been born you were a mistake I never loved you and I don't need you alive ruining my life and saying things that are not true! You just hold everyone back anyways, your dead weight and I don't think it would make a difference if you were to die too!" He yells back at her. Lucy is taken aback by the harsh comment and smiles dropping to her knees. "Your right, maybe I am dead weight but I'm certainly way better than you, but if this is my fate then please do it. Kill me once and for all." She says in her normal voice. "I will." He responds.

Going onto Natsu and his current state, right now the spell Lisanna had casted on him a while ago is taking into action and working, how is it working and what's going on? Well, the spell Lisanna had casted on him was a spell for if Natsu was to get killed ever, he would be granted his form (body) back as well as his magic and go back to the life he used to have, his family will come back to the human life as well and they will all have a great life. After Natsu's body had finished going back to his original form which contained his salmon pink spiky hair, green onyx eyes, his tan skin, scar on the right upper part of his neck, white scaly scarf around his neck, and his usual black with gold around the rim of his long jacket with the same color and style as his pants, he also wore black sandals. He then woke up remembering everything that was going on, though he was confused because he swore that he had indeed died but shaking it off he went to move his hand to his chest but then realized he had a hand he sat straight up looking at his hands, body, clothing, everything! Everything was back! He was happy, then he remembered. Lucy... that name couldn't stay out of his head and thoughts. He then remembered the situation again looking to his right seeing her on her knees and a rifle pointed at Lucy. "Goodbye you ungrateful daughter." He heard Jude say to Lucy as Natsu whispered 'no' To himself.

Back to Lucy's side. She sat there on her knees on the ground waiting for hm to fire the gun. "Goodbye you ungrateful daughter." She heard Jude say. Her once beautiful white dress was now bloody from Natsu, and dirty from the ground. She soon heard the sound of her father's rifle go off as she waits for it to impact her but she feels nothing. She opens her eyes looking at a fire barrier surrounding her. She is confused and wondering why there is fire, and why was it around her? She thought to herself really hard. 'It couldn't be....' she thought to herself. The fire barrier vanished, and there stood a young man, with salmon pink spikey hair and onyx eyes. That young man was indeed Natsu Dragneel, the most powerful wizard in the village. "I won't let you hurt her." Natsu says coldly glaring at Jude. "You again? I thought I killed you." Jude says smirking evil like. "Well ya sure thought wrong, just cause your king it doesn't mean you can do and get away with whatever" Natsu replays coldly crossing his arms looking at Jude with a glare that could kill. Jude only laughs "well if I have to kill you too then so be it." Jude says firing off the gun again as Natsu makes a fire wall burning the bullet yet again. Soon after firing many shots at the dragon slayer, Jude ran out of bullets and began to be fearful as Natsu walked toward Jude in a calm but scary manner that even sent chills up Lucy's spine. Natsu soon got close to Jude and stole his rifle with his hands and hit Jude on the back of the head of the gun knocking Jude out. "Lucy, are you ok?" Natsu asks turning around looking at the princess. "Yes thank you Natsu." She says smiling at him as he smiles back at her. Natsu picks Jude up and puts him over her shoulder. "Lets go get you back to your castle princess, and get this guy tossed into the prison." Natsu says smiling his famous toothy smile that could melt someone's heart in a second. Lucy's nods at him following him back to her castle.

On their quiet walk to the castle Lucy stops in the middle of the forest. "Lucy? What's wrong?" Natsu asks her as she runs to him and gives him a hug with some tears of happiness stream down her cheeks. "Thank you so much Natsu." She says in a whisper. "Your welcome Lucy." He says smiling at her. She lifts her head up looking at him smiling the tears streaming down her cheeks still, Natsu takes his free hand and cups her cheek wiping the tears away as they both laugh. Then as some silence is to be heard the two young adults lean in and share a small loving kiss. Then the two look at each other smiling and blushing, to have a great future and to live happily ever after under the stars and the moon.
