tally marks || chapter two

jungkook waited until everyone was in their beds and hoseok hyung had left work with a "see you tomorrow, gguk", before he went out the main door and locked the door, double checking it

jungkook sneezed and tried to hug his coat closer to his body as chilly wind of october started to attack him from all directions, looking for some warm flesh to devour

the smaller male held onto the straps of his bag as he opened the door to closest café and dusted his coat before smiling at the cashier

"good morning!" the boy smiled at him brightly and jungkook smiled back, his teeth clacking together because of cold

"dear, you must be cold" the boy said alarmed and hurried out of the counter to hurry jungkook inside of café

"i'm jungkook" the younger male smiled politely, and the cashier smiled

"i'm jonghyun, nice to meet you" the boy smiled widely and jungkook almost teared up because the boy literally looked like an angel

"oh, do we have a visitor at this late hour?" jungkook heard a voice before another male swung his arm around jonghyun and grinned at jungkook

"i'm minho, nice to meet you, young fella" he smiled at jungkook

it's so pretty when people smile genuinely

"i'm jungkook, nice to meet you, can i have a cup of hot chocolate?" jungkook asked as he relaxed because he was feeling warm already

"sure, i'll get it jonghyun, you can go home now" the cashier smiled widely and left after waving at jungkook

jungkook drank his drink and paid for it, bidding minho goodbye and walking out the door

as he was clutching to the hot packet that minho gave him someone bumped into him and apologized as they hurried past jungkook hurriedly

jungkook felt his wrist itch slightly and he rubbed the place through his clothes. he looked to his side and saw someone crossing the street hurriedly and hugging another person, happy smile forming on their face

it really was very cold today

jungkook yawned before darting his eyes around the dark street and heading home to sleep for the day

minho was about to get ready to close the café when the door opened and a boy with flushed nose walked in, removing his hat in the process

"evening" minho greeted the boy and younger smiled

"what do you want today? you're late you know" minho smiled gently

"i had shit tone of work today" the boy said as they unfastened their tie and sat down, exhausted

"well, did you have any luck?" minho asked the boy and blond-haired male shook his head

"i got somewhere fifty marks already, but the person is never the right one, i'm tired" the boy whispered

"it's okay bub, you'll met your one" minho tried to reassure his friend, scratching his own black tally mark

"i hope so, i do really hope so" the boy sighed as he drank his usual black coffee and spent his time talking to his hyung

the next day jungkook opened the door to his workspace and saw a blond-haired male sitting in his chair

jungkook was cranky in the morning and he wouldn't take this guy's bullshit, whoever he was

"excuse me, that's my place" jungkook scoffed, not in the mood at all

"someone woke up on the other side of the bed?" the male laughed loudly and got up, putting his hands up in surrender

"anyway, who the fuck are you, blondie?" jungkook asked as he sat down and started sipping his coffee

"i'm the one who fucks your mom" jungkook almost spit his drink out as he stared at the guy who started laughing uproariously

"the fuck you want, blondie?" jungkook asked, gnashing his teeth together

"relax, bunny-face, i'm the new intern here and i'm pretty sure i'm older than you. be respectful" the blond-haired male raised his hand and whacked gguk on the back of his head gently

"yah!" jungkook yelled and blondie snickered

"i don't like you" jungkook whispered and the older smirked at him

"feeling is mutual" blondie replied

gguk's wrist started to itch again and he rubbed it again over the clothes. soon the janitor passed by them hurriedly, a lollipop in his mouth

"lollipop? janitors can have those?" annoying blondie asked and jungkook rolled his eyes dramatically

"you're intern, right? i'm pretty sure you have plenty of work to do so why don't you go and do it?" younger male asked rudely, and blondie scoffed

"aw, you're no fun. fine, fine, mom, i'm going" blondie said and jogged away, not before blowing a kiss to jungkook who gagged quickly
