You shook your head, your phone playing on speaker on your center console while you looked at the road ahead. You wanted to turn the music up to block out the ranting from your sister.
You were on the way to your cousin's house to pick up her kids for you to babysit. But that's not what you and your sister were arguing about.
You've been dating a guy for about three weeks. He was so sweet and caring. Not to mention attractive. And the best part? You've known him most of your life so you know he isn't some dead beat that sells drugs or something like that.
"I just don't get how you could fall for someone you've been dating for three weeks! It's insan-" Oh and you're in love with him.
"Julia, did you forget who it is or something!? You know him, I know him, mom and dad know him. He's basically already part of the family!" You argue.
"I get that but some people are different when your dating them rather than being friends," she lectured.
You roll your eyes, "And you think after all this time we've known Collins he'd change because he and I are together?"
"Yeah, and when he does and you two break up your friendship will be ruined," your elder sister says.
"Y'know, They say you find your soulmate before you're 18. He's like the only guy I've talked to other than his brother but Devan is younger than me," you say calmly.
Julia sighed, "You're seriously going that far? Saying he could be your soulmate?"
"Well I bet when you fell in love with Jackson you were thinking the same exact thing," Jackson is Julia's husband.
She sighed once more, "I'm just saying, you are insane if you're already in love with him. I mean, I hate to say it, y/n, but what if he doesn't love you back. Or maybe he just wants some pretty arm candy?"
"Julia! Are you kidding me?! Once again, it's Collins! He would never do that! So what, maybe he doesn't love me back. Maybe, it is wrong that I already feel this way. But I'm not going to apologize for it!" After that outburst you looked down at your phone. You tried pressing the button to hang up. But that and a pair of headlights were the last thing you saw before the accident.
*Three Days Later*
Beeping. That was the annoying sound you heard. It was loud and obnoxious and too much for your poor head. Your eyes were still closed. You were just waiting for the beeping to stop. But it wouldn't.
You felt your hand holding someone else's. Lightly, you squeeze it to let them know you're awake.
It was hard to but, you open your eyes and find yourself in a sterile looking room. A small gasp is heard, "Y/n?" You look slightly to the left where the voice came from. Sitting there holding your hand in his, was your tall, bright-blue eyed, boyfriend.
"Hi," You say in a frail voice.
He teared up, "I'm so glad you're okay." When you started tearing up you notice how his eyes looked puffy, he's been crying because of how nervous he's been for you.
You smile a tiny bit, "You've been crying?"
"We almost lost you. Doctor said you were lucky to survive much less with minor injuries," He explained briefly. Wiping the tears from his eyes.
"Minor injuries?" You asked surprised.
He nodded, his messy hair flopping up and down with it, "Well Yeah. Minor for what kind of wreck it was. There was some internal bleeding around your kidneys from the impact. And a slight concussion." He looked down as if it pained him to talk about.
