CHAPTER 2

Sophia's P.O.V.

I woke up to voices saying "Should we wake her up?" and "Maybe". I recognized those voices very well. My eyelids fluttered and I saw two figures standing by the bed beside each other. I rubbed my eyes and got up. My mom was standing there beside Lissa. "Good morning, Sophia" Lissa smiled. I smiled back at her and looked at my mother who was also smiling at me but evilly.

"Mornin. What time is it?" I ask looking for my alarm clock. My mom glanced at Lissa and her smile became more evil. "Well?" I exclaimed waiting for an answer.

"8:30" my mom's evil smile grew more evil by the minute. I shot out of my bed realizing I've already been really late to go for my training lessons with Daniel Belikov, Dimitri's 'son' or rather Adrian's and now my soon to be hot mentor. I grabbed some clothes and put it on, not bothering to take a bath knowing I'll sweat anyway and shouted "Bye" to them before running out and into the gym.

When I got to the gym, I saw Daniel sitting on the floor, leaning on the wall and reading a novel. I was panting and gasping for air as I ran a long way to be less later than I already am but I failed pretty badly at it. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to be late. I just overslept and my mom and Lissa was there but didn't bother to wake me up" I said still panting.

"You're late. You will do an extra ten laps of running and do not be late again" he said still concentrated on his book. I have to admit, he is a lot like Dimitri character wise. I sighed.

"Uhh....Exactly how many laps was I supposed to do anyway?" I asked curiously. He closed his book, got up and walked over to me smiling.

"Twenty laps" I froze. I've never ran twenty laps in my life. Dimitri used to tell me to run five laps when I was a kid on his off days but definitely not twenty. I must've looked shocked because he replied "Don't worry. I'm running with you" he smiled and walked out of the gym. "Come on, you don't wanna add more laps, do you?" he asked. I didn't answer and just followed him. I guess I didn't need to do warm up exercises since I ran down just now.

On my fifteenth round, my mother joined us. "Hey, how's it going?" she smiled. I gave her an annoyed glare and didn't answer back until my 'mentor' started talking. "Sophia, answer your mother" I glanced at him and sighed.

"Hi, mom. How's it goin? I'm extra tired if you really wanna know" I smiled at her and looked back at 'Guardian Belikov' .

On my twenty- fifth round, I saw Lissa and Christian sitting on a bench and smiling at us. I smiled them to be polite even though I love them so much. They were still my parents even though my mom was always there but they still took care of me. Lissa grinned back and started talking to 'Sparky' , my mother's nickname for Christian.

After my last lap, I bade good-bye to my mom and Guardian Belikov and left to my room. When I reached my room, I noticed that someone had fixed my door. I walked in and got ready for any possible threat, just in case but found Dimitri sitting there. "Hey, Sophia, how was your day?" he smiled. I sighed. My feet was sore and I ached all over and I just feel like sleeping the whole day.

"I'm fine. Just tired is all" I replied calmly.

"I can tell you're lying, Sofiya" he said, calling me by my Russian name.

"Damn it! Why do you have to be so good at reading me and mom?"

He smiled and I knew what he was going to say next. "You swear a lot" he said, still smiling. I sat on the bed beside him and leaned against him.

"My feet ache all over. Can I get a break for today?" I gave the most adorable puppy dog eyes I could and he smiled but didn't answer.

"No. That will have to be done by your mentor" I frowned and sighed. He chuckled. I crossed my arms on my chest and started sulking.
