So.. my appologies for being a day (or is it two) late with my update 😭😭 dont hate me😭😭 . It's 2 in the morning and im typing this on my phone so please forgive all the typos, theyre bound to happen.. ill fix them when i get internet back to my computer (which may or may not be why it's late.. the other option is that I have issues and can't keep a schedule).
It's been three days and somehow his smell lingers in my home, assaulting my nose at random moments through out my home. My daily tasks constantly ruined by the foreign smell of campfire and some spice I can't seem to place. I haven't been able to focus enough to sew a single stitch since that man broke into my house. My anger has since settled into a ball of seething hatred low in my belly.
Who does he think he is, using my father's illness against me. I've met the man once, on the worst of occasions, and he suddenly demands I marry him. He dangles my father's life in front of me like a cat toy, close enough to catch my attention bust just out of reach.
"I wish Anna was here," I murmur to an empty room, "she may be ditsy but she is a princess.. there must be something she could do." I sigh watching shadows flit across the floor just under the window where I've replaced the iron bar with a small dagger. One of a set of eight I now have seven of hidden around the house, the eighth in a pocket sewn into the folds of my dress; and all my dresses from now on.
"CALISTA," the booming voice of my father scares me out of my chair.
"Come in," I call coming out of the floor. I can hear Hartley jabbering as soon as father opens the door.
"Oh Calista are you alright?" Hartley inquires when he sees me rising from the floor over a rather large box he is holding.
"You startled me, that's all," I insist standing to hug father, "what are you doing here anyway?" Hartley raises an eyebrow at my attempt to change the subject. My pride thanks him for letting it go.
"We just though we'd visit," father offers half heartedly. He must be worried again, he's been this way since I opened the shop and started living here.
"Okay," I agree for the time being, "but what's woth the box?" My question brings a pair of enormous identical smiles.
"It's a small gift," father hints, "I found it by accident and I believe that you will have much more use for it than we would." I raise an eyebrow as Hartley places the box on the table almost like it's filled with crystal. I can hear something shift inside the box.
"Common Lissa open it. You're going to love it i promise ," Hartley insists. Something in the box shifts again.
"Its alive!" I observe with a gasp quickly flipping open the top of the box to reveal a small ball of black fluff with bright red eyes.
I'm only updating a half chapter at this time because I'm half asleep. Love you guys! If you know pokemon its basocally an emo growlith (?fluffy lion dog pokemon? Dont think I spelled it correctly) lol. I might draw it later if i have time. Comment names for her puppy and if I can't think of one I like better I may use yours, with credit given of course. Don't assume it's gender 😂😂
