Chapter One-Meeting old friends
Karen Kass
Rule number one: Never trust the very first guy you meet in a thousand miles.
"I stink" Jenna wince smelling her underarms. "Let's get new clothes."
"And ribs," I reply still looking in front of me.
"There!," Jenna exclaims pointing at an aeropostale store.
I nod even though she doesn't notice me. My sister has great taste in fashion (well, when it comes to brands).
I pick up the speed of the pick up truck and park it near the front doors.
Rule Number Two: Girls panick easily. Keep the vehicle very near the entrance/exit.
"We're getting food later" I say turning off the engine. "There's a supermarket near by."
Jenna groans playfully and I lock the car.
Rule number three: Screech and make noise to see if there are zombies.
"Small store, no zombies maybe," Jenna shrugs squinting her eyes and leans forward to her any sound.
Then we hear zombie noises and I grab my shotgun and aim it at the female zombie.
Bang.
I look to my side and see Jenna shot a zombie. Another female zombie.
"They're in a clothing store and look what they're wearing, " I snicker.
Jenna laughs then pipes down as she makes her way to a rack of coats. She squeels and grab a puffy baby blue coat and tries it on. I raise my thumb and grab a black leather jacket, Burgundy shirt, and navy blue leggings. My doc martens would already work.
"I'll get changed," I say casually, then enter the dressing room with the clothes in hand.
I finished changing and wait for Jenna to get out. And she does.
She was wearing a pink crop top, the blue coat from earlier, studded shorts, and her white high-top converse.
I raise my right eyebrow at her.
"Our destination is California" She retorts. "And it's fall! "
"You can get that" I say folding my arms. "But you'll wear something un revealing today."
She sighs and takes a blue knit sweater and wears it over her crop top. I nod chuckling.
"Let's leave now," She groans.
"Wait," I say making my way to the cash register and take all the cash.
I fiddled my pocket and took the car keys out.
"We can just walk you know?" Jenna says looking at the car keys in my hand. "The supermarket is just near."
"Girl code" I reply walking towards the car. "Rule number two: Girls panick easily. Keep the vehicle very near the entrance / exit. "
"Fine" Jenna groans. "Do we really have to follow that crap?"
"First of all we invented that," I reply sitting in the driver's seat.
Jenna looked at me wide-eyed. I bet she thought I will say 'Don't say bad words.' Honestly I don't care what she says.
We arrive at the supermarket and again I screech. And there are four zombies. Jenna grabs her shotgun while I grab my metal baseball bat.
Bang. Hit! Bang. Hit!
"Lets get ribs" I say smirking to Jenna and she gives me a puppy look. "And sweets."
"Twinkie first" Jenna replies. "Then your ribs."
I nod and follow her to where the twinkies are.
I nod at Jenna and I raise my right arm and grab the twinkie, then there was a hand on top of mine.
I look to my right.
"Cassandra? !"
