Right now I'm sitting in the audience at dad and Uncle Jared's panel at the convention.
"This'll have to be the last question. Sorry guys. We have to save some time for me to tell you guys something."
Then they turn their attention towards the mic.
"Hi, umm, this is kind of a weird question. It's for Jensen."
"Haha!" Dad yells at Jared.
"In an interview a few weeks ago you announced that you had a daughter and that her name is Penelope Jane. I was wondering if you could give us an update on her and tell us if you've found her yet."
"I can't believe Jensen has a daughter," the lady next to me exclaims.
"Yeah, me neither," I say back.
I look back up at the stage and see Dad rubbing the back of his head nervously.
"Yeah, umm, Penelope Jane. PJ. I actually found her the day of that interview. That's why I left so abruptly. She's actually in the audience right now. She's somewhere out there, but which person is she?"
I look around, acting like I'm not his daughter and just another fan trying to find her.
"PJ come up here," dad calls out.
I pull my phone out of my pocket and text him saying that I don't want to.
"Now PJ. Please," he says.
I look up from my phone and Jared looks my way and makes eye contact with me. Crap. He nudged dad's shoulder and dad looks this way. He makes eye contact with me too. Dad gets off of the rage and starts walking towards me. The people around me start whispering while I maintain eye contact with my dad. I just realized I'm in the aisle seat. Great. That just makes it easier for him to get to me. Soon after I look down I feen a hand on my arm. I look up and dad's looking me in the eyes.
"Do you really not want to go up?" Dad asks.
"I don't want to, but I will if it's important to you," I tell him.
"Okay. Do you want to be carried up there or do you want to walk by yourself?"
I shrug my shoulders. Then he picks me up. I scream. He carries me up onto the stage then puts me down.
"I did not agree to that," I say, realizing what just happened.
A microphone gets handed to me.
"Don't worry guys, I won't drop it here like Jared does all the time," I say to the fans. They scream and laugh in response. I look over at Jared and see that he's glaring at me.
"What? It's true. We've all seen the videos. You drop it at least once every panel. Don't lie to us," I say while laughing. A chair is then put in between Dad's and Jared's. I sit in it and dad looks over at me and smiles.
"So, this is Penelope Jane Ackles. My daughter. Tell them a little bit about yourself."
There's some screaming from the fans. I look in the audience and see one of my old best friends. I forgot to tell her I was getting adopted. I bought her ticket for her too. She looks at me. She's definitely shocked.
"You okay kid? You were zoned out for a second there," dad says to me.
"Yeah, umm. Stuff about me. Okay. I'm going to be 16 in just over two weeks. I used to live here, in New York, before dear old dad here adopted me. My favorite show is either Supernatural or Once Upon a Time. My favorite color is purple. And my best friend is in the audience right now. A few weeks ago I had bought both of us tickets to this convention. I gave her hers, but I forgot to tell her that I got adopted. I'm sorry Kelsie."
