"I'm sorry Kelsie. I'm so sorry," I say while starting to cry. Jen— dad realized and excused us while taking us off of the stage.
"Are you okay?" he asks.
"No, not really. Seeing my friend out in the audience made some memories come back. Not good ones either. She helped me through some pretty tough times. Her ticket was her birthday present saying 'thank you for all you've done for me'. She probably hates me now."
"She doesn't hate you. She's just not happy that you didn't tell her that you got adopted by your favorite actor of all time and that he's actually your freaking dad," a way too familiar voice says. I look up and see Kelsie standing next to me.
"Kels!" I scream while giving her a hug.
"Hey Penelope. How're you doing?"
"Good, I guess. I've missed you."
"I've missed you too kid."
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention something. Kelsie is a few years older than me. So when she got too old to be in our previous foster home, the caretaker kicked her out and sent me back to the orphanage. Kelsie was the only one who took care of me, so she didn't know how to.
"I hate to do this PJ, but I have to leave. I have photo-ops to go to right now. Do you want to come with?" Dad asks.
I look at Kelsie to see what she thinks.
"You know what Penelope, here's my phone number. Text or call me whenever you want. I'll always answer. I have to go back to my fiancé. He's probably wondering where I went," she says.
"You're engaged! Congratulations! Okay, I guess I'll see you later. Bye," I say while giving her another hug. She walks away and dad clears his throat.
"So, you coming or not?"
"Yeah, I'm coming. Let's do this!"

Half an hour later

I've been sitting behind the curtain while J2 and Misha do photo-ops for about half an hour now. Occasionally I peek through the curtain and laugh at the weird poses fans are having them do. There's been a few fans that have noticed me and waved at me. I've always waved at them back. I'm about to poke my head through the curtain again when I hear somebody ask dad something.
"I was wondering if your daughter could be in the picture too. She seems really nice," a fan asks.
Before dad can respond I jump out from behind the curtain and onto uncle Jared's back.
"Hi guys," I say.
We take the picture and I end up staying and taking pictures with everybody else. It was pretty tiring, but it was definitely worth it. When the last picture is done we have a little photo shoot of our own. It was amazing.
