We sat in silence for at least an hour. I was paging through my guides and the two of them were completely content with sitting silence while I read. It made me feel nice inside. I stopped reading and folding the upper right corner before closing the book.

"I trust you," I say quietly. Ty peeks up from his bunk.

"What makes you say that?" He asks.

"Do I even need to respond? Of course, I trust you too." Ash giggles from beneath me. I smile and set my book in the cupboard.

"I don't know how to explain it but...If there was no regeneration system- or whatever after a death in battle...You two would be the ones I would choose to have my back." I say.

"I mean you don't really have that big of a selection," Ty tells me. I scoff and slide off the bunk bed.

"I want to do something- I'm bored," I say standing up straight. Ash lifts her wrist up and slides back her sleeve to show the time on an old watch. She looks back to me and examines my weapons sitting on the desk beneath the window.

"Let's get you some real gear first...Then we can go training." She says smiling and standing up. I climb halfway up the ladder to my top bunk and snatch all of my coins and hop back down.

"Damn Ms. Money bags." Ty teases. I roll my eyes and Ash scoffs.

"I just think you're jealous because you blew all of your money gambling," Ash says with a smile.

"Okay but that's not fair! Who lets sixteen-year-olds gamble?!" Ty attempts to defend himself but it's useless. I laugh as we walk out. I lock the door behind us and Ash leads the way. Someone I find myself on a dirt road with outdoor stands lining the roads. I rub the back of my neck nervously.

"First thing on the list is a backpack," Ash says walking to one stand with a banner reading: Bags and Pouches. I follow her and she gestures to the wall. "Pick what you want but make sure you like it enough to use it until it falls apart." The guy at the stand nods.

"Currency here is very tight." He tells me. I point to a regular black backpack hanging on the wall with the words Trall Academy attached to it.

"That one looks cool- I'll get it," I say kindly. The man nods and we exchange 10 coins for the bag. I look over to Ash. "What's next?" I ask her tilting my head like a puppy.

"A water bottle, two sets of clothes, some shoes, a lantern, lantern fuel, a toothbrush, toothpaste, a hairbrush, hair binders, and anything of entertainment like a book or a notebook and pen." She explains. I nod.

"Cool- seems like you've got this all planned," I say with a nod.

"My first days here were kind of rough cuz I didn't have the right materials to get me set, so I don't really want you do suffer like I did." She laughs. I laugh back and Ty branches off to look at some hunting gear. Ash points ahead. "Water bottles are here- I suggest something big enough to hold your water but small enough to fit in the side pouch of your backpack." She says. I nod and walk up to the woman on the other side of the register.

"What can I get you?" She asks with a kind smile. I glance past her to the water bottles hanging on the wall behind her. My eyes come over a grey water bottle. I gesture to it.

"Could I buy that water bottle please?" I ask. She smiles gently.

"Why of course!" She says. "5 coins." She adds. I nod and drop five coins into her hand. She hands me the large water bottle and it fits perfectly into my backpack. I smile triumphantly and turn back to Ash who gives me a comforting thumbs up.
