Okay, Marc, this is going to be kind of short due to the abundance that I liked your work, as well as most of your issues just being first-draft things we've discussed over line comments :)

Things I liked:

Pertuli. 'Nuff said. 10/10 favorite character.

Your vocabulary and language. It's educated and aware of itself; something I am positive has a foot in the public's door already. I cannot wait until you publish! (I mean, I can, but:)

Rip and Pertili's friendship. It is so pure, and it fits so well! Pertuli quips like a REAL PERSON. (I mean, the bit with the silver was a bit of a stretch, but it was needed.) When do you see that in modern literature anymore? He worries about Rip, and Rip treats him like a foil; practically like a brother! It is beautiful and I love everything about it. 'Tuli

Uh, the freaking villain. I doubted at first--I know, shoot me-- but you made him so perfect to just hate. The darker sides of me even wanted him to win! Part 2 Section 3 really had me fighting with myself. I mean, look at him; he's just so passionate and arrogant! He hid the magic well, he fumbled when he could be caught, he was fiery about winning in ways that humans just are. It was beautiful. Some of his dialogue and thought processes were so-so, but we'll get to that. I liked the shift--it was truly a twist; though, I feel like we could have had a bit more of a wrap-up with his transformation. However, I do believe that you will dip into this later.
