"What's that?" Laurence said as went out of the bathroom as he just finished showering.

"It's a wedding invitation from Sam and Cyan. I guess they're really together forever." I answered turning to face him because my back was facing him.

"When is it?" Laurence asked

"Next week." I answered

"Mom! Aunt Sam called if you received the invitation." Apxfel, my 7 year old son said as he banged open the door to our room.

Apxfel isn't really our flesh and blood. We adopted him from the orphanage 2 years ago. That orphanage was the orphanage that our punishment in high school took place.

I became attached to the place so I come there to visit every 6 months and every time I go there, I bring some clothes and toys for the children there.

Apxfel caught my attention since he was the one who is always silent and never play with others. I asked the head there why he was like that. The head said that his parents died and he witnessed it in such a young mind.

For a 5 year old, he was a lot stronger. I came to him to play with him. He was quite independent and obedient. He then became attached to me. So, I adopted him.

Apxfel was quite smart for a 7 year old. He also listens to his elders attentively.

Ever since that trick they played on us when we got selective amnesia............ Let's just say that I changed a lot. From the stone hearted violent person, I turned to something else or a new person.

"I'll just tell her later that we received it." I answered

The doorbell rang so I quickly went downstairs to answer it. When I checked it, no one was there. I only found a box. I opened it and saw another threat.

"What's that?" Laurence asked peeking on what I was holding. But, I quickly hid it.

"It's nothing." I said

"Really? Let me see." Laurence said as he took the box that I was hiding behind me. I tried hiding it harder but was never useful. He got the box and looked what was inside.

"What's this???!!!! How long has this been going on??!!!" He exclaimed. Clearly angry.

"4 years ago. Starting from the day we accepted partnership with Del Valle Realty." I said, trying to escape this situation. I know that I will get some complains and ranting from him.

"Why didn't you tell?? It could've been them sending threats!!! We could've solved this earlier!!" He said, anger and fear in his tone was clear.

"It was just threats. No one did anything so I didn't bother." I said calmly like nothing's wrong.

"It could have been worse." He said

"But it didn't." I said

"What could've been worse? Are you gonna fight again.......... I'll just go somewhere." Apxfel said as he came by us.

I really pity him. He is 7 and he already realizes the things going around us. He is still young he needs to enjoy life and not problem it. He always caught us when we fight. Even we're not his parents, we can't let him experience a bad childhood whose parents are always fighting. It will affect him big time. I can't let that happen.

"It's nothing Apxfel. Uhm....... Do you want anything or do you want to go somewhere?" I said trying to hide our problem from him.

"Let's go to the amusement park!!" Apxfel said, jumping up and down excitedly.

"Okay, go to your room and clean up. After, we will go afterwards." I said and he quickly went to his room.

"We really have to talk about some things in private. We can't let him know. He's too young. He witnessed his parents die in front of his eyes. We can't let him feel the same. We have to make him feel that he's not alone. That he's too young and he needs to enjoy. He can't witness all these now. Not when he just saw 2 people get killed." Laurence said and I agreed.

We then went to our room to change clothes too. Once finished, I walked to Apxfel's room to check on him. He was not there. When I checked the living room, he was there watching TV silently.

"Let's go." I said and he turned off the TV and we went out the house then headed straight to the amusement park.
