The door suddenly opens, startling Jirou Kyouka as light spreads throughout her bedroom. She quickly shuts her laptop, yanking out her earphones as she spins around. "I said leave me alone, Kaminari!" She yells, getting ready to throw her shoe.

A cute voice giggles from outside her room, and Jirou turns red as a familiar girl leans inside, her face illuminated nicely in the artificial light. Yaoyorozu Momo stepped inside gracefully, giving Jirou a small wave. She was wearing a white nightgown that shaped her curvy body delicately, and her soft hair was falling over her shoulders. Despite looking tired and a little ruffled, Jirou still thought her girlfriend looked stunning.

"Jirou, shouldn't you be sleeping? It's midnight, you know." She said softly, shutting the door before making her way towards the bed. Jirou shrugged, sliding to the side to make room for the two of them. She opened her laptop again, sighing as it began loading. "Kaminari told me about this game he's obsessed with. It's called DDLC; I thought it was just some stupid dating sim, but it's gotten really cool! I just can't stop playing now. But anyway, what are you doing up? Don't you have combat training tomorrow?" She said.

Yaoyorozu nodded, making herself comfortable as Jirou unlocked her computer again. "I do – and it's with Sero-kun and Aoyama-kun. They're good at long-range attacks, so I was nervous – so I was finding it difficult to fall asleep tonight. I had a feeling you'd still be up, so I thought I'd come and check on you." She said, smiling sweetly.

Jirou accidently snorted, her cheeks turning pink. "Thanks! You're too nice, Momo. If you want I can play this at my desk and you can lie down. I seriously want to finish this game before tomorrow." She said, scratching her neck in embarrassment. Momo is an intellectual, so I don't know what she thinks about games – especially stupid visual novel ones like this...

Yaoyorozu shakes her head and giggles, leaning against her girlfriend sleepily. "I want to watch you play this. The girls look very pretty!" She said, pointing to the screen. There were three girls shown, all deep in a serious conversation about poetry. Jirou nods excitedly, pointing to the short girl with pink hair, "Yeah! My favourite is Natsuki! She's a tsundere so she's hilarious, and she's cute too! I mean, she loves baking and enjoys manga – how can someone so cute exist? And the poems she writes are incredibly meaningful! They're simple and almost childish but damn they're deep!"

As Jirou rambles on about her waifu, Yaoyorozu hugs her legs and watches her silently, admiring the way her eyes shine in excitement. Jirou was always so caught up in acting punk-rock that she seemed to forget to show what her true feelings were. Being incredibly expressive herself, Yaoyorozu sometimes found it difficult to deal with. She smiles and rests her head on Jirou's shoulder, listening to her loud heartbeat blissfully.

The game's cutesy music suddenly changed pitch, making Yaoyorozu shiver. That was creepy... she thought, breathing out.

"S-Sorry! I began rambling," Jirou said quickly, gripping her laptop, "Here, I'll just play and you can watch if you want."

The two sit in silence as Jirou continues playing, her eyes glued to the screen as she reads the text. Yaoyorozu eventually stops following along, becoming too tired to pay attention to something as complex as poetry. She decides to stare at the screen instead, watching the expression of this Natsuki character change as she argues with the MC. She is cute, she thought, suddenly imagining Jirou in the character's position. Jirou pouting and crossing her arms angrily, blushing as she stutters out a cute insult. Yaoyorozu chuckled, winding her arm around her girlfriend's, it's a cliché trope but it's too adorable.

"Ah, Natsuki fell asleep on my shoulder! She's almost as cute as you, Momo!" Jirou squealed, kicking her legs excitedly.

Natsuki opens her eyes, sleepily looking up at the camera. Yaoyorozu sighed dreamily, remembering the first time her and Jirou had shared a bed. When she'd woken up, Jirou had been curled up next to her, whistling lightly with her head on her shoulder. Their legs had been entwined, their love bites visible across their necks. Call her a romantic, but Yaoyorozu didn't want anything else but to see that sight every morning. She felt herself blush, so she chuckled and nuzzled her head into Jirou's neck.

Just as Yaoyorozu stops dreaming and turns back to the screen, Natsuki's eyes and mouth suddenly pixelates and blackens, her text becoming garbled and running off the chat. Yaoyorozu yelps as the cutesy music continues to play but in a messed-up manner, sounding as though it were being played through a very old radio. Is this a horror game?!

Jirou bursts into laughter, wrapping an arm around her quivering girlfriend. "I'm sorry! I forgot to mention this is kind of a creepy game. You don't like this kind of stuff?" She asked with a grin, rubbing her back.

Yaoyorozu shook her head, quickly clicking the mousepad to make the scene disappear. She gasps again as Natsuki doesn't change, still talking garble in a creepy fashion.

"Ooh, this is so cool!" Jirou exclaimed, taking control of the mouse. The game was normal again, one of the other girls apologising for Natsuki's strange behaviour. Yaoyorozu pouts, grabbing and squeezing Jirou's hand. Jirou squeezed back unconsciously, completely focused on the game.

A while passed, and Yaoyorozu was beginning to realise why Jirou liked this cliché visual novel so much. It seemed like the game was broken – with plenty of glitches and mistakes, like sudden changes in character personalities. Sometimes the text would change font and size, saying something that the character wouldn't say. "It's like someone is forcing them to say these things... like someone else inside the game is controlling the game!" Jirou mumbles, resting her head on top of Yaoyorozu's.

Yaoyorozu grimaces when she looks at the purple-haired girl's poem, which consists of random words scribbled atop a sheet of paper covered in her own blood and tea. I really don't understand the pleasure in watching these creepy things, she thought, shutting her eyes, but if Jirou likes it, I have to try understand why it's enjoyable. I want to enjoy the things she enjoys!

About twenty minutes later, Yaoyorozu screams as one of the girls begins to stab herself, looking as though she was ecstatic. She snaps the laptop shut and throws it across the bed, wrapping herself around her girlfriend.

Jirou was laughing so hard she was snorting uncontrollably, falling backwards as Yaoyorozu complained. "I-I'm sorry! You d-didn't have to watch!" She laughs, wiping her eyes, "You're too cute! That reaction is priceless! Hey... we should definitely start watching horror movies together!"

Yaoyorozu whined as Jirou continued to laugh. She nuzzled her head into Jirou's neck, being careful not to poke herself with her earphone jack. With the laptop closed, there was no more light in the room, reminding them what the time actually was. They instinctively got comfortable together, lying side-by-side with their arms around each other. It eventually became silent, the girl's ears filled the sounds of their heartbeats. When Yaoyorozu softly kissed Jirou's neck, her loud heartbeat quickened instantly.

"Hey, that's not fair!" Jirou said hotly as Yaoyorozu giggled, sliding their hands together.

"If it'll make you happy," Yaoyorozu said softly, "we can watch more horror movies together." She pulled Jirou's hand up, placing a teasing kiss across the knuckles.

She couldn't help but smile as Jirou gasped, laughing happily and squeezing her tighter. Her face was pink with happiness – a true beauty indeed. "Thank you, thank you! I promise I'll start going to your study sessions again in return!" She giggled, pecking Yaoyorozu's soft, delicate hands with warm kisses.

They both laughed, their cheerful sounds filling the room. Jirou felt her heart swell as she watched her perceived-to-be uptight girlfriend laugh so freely, her beautiful, sophisticated voice reserved just for her. She brushed her feet against Yaoyorozu's, resting her head against her breasts.

"Sleep, baby. I wanna see you beat Aoyama's ass tomorrow." She grinned, finally closing her eyes.

Yaoyorozu chuckled, weaving her fingers through Jirou's short hair. "Of course – I'll try even harder just for you, honey. I love you."
