ONE - WELCOME TO NEW YORK

Everything took her breathe away. There was something so beautiful about the lights and the scenery, and she thought Asgard was magnificent. Maybe it was the fact she had never been to another realm, her parents had refused to let her fight in battles, no matter how much she begged.

It was a wonder to her, all of it. The clothes, the building, the colors exploding in the sky. She found herself in the center of it all.

Italiana knee she was being given weird looks but she was used to that after all it's what she lived for, standing out in a crowd. This crowd was in particularly making their way to a set up.

She had no idea what the red machine was they were all admiring, it seemed completely unnatural to her. The food did too, and the outfits the women wore on stage. If her mother had seen her in that she would've fainted, that thought alone made Italiana smile.

The was some announcement, coming from the sky it sounded, introducing a man by the name of Howard Stark who came out dressed in odd clothing as well.

Italiana admired the women's casual dress but the way the men dressed out uniform was odd. There were a few that looked to be in some form of uniform, minus the armor though which again was strange.

She ended up standing behind one of these men and next to a really scrawny kid. She supposed he was supposed to be a man by the way he dressed but he was so small, and in desperate need of some meat on his bones as well as a few more inches in height.

Italiana crossed her arms as she watched the scene play out in front of her. She let her curiosity get the better of her, she would find out what realm this was after the entertainment.

"Ladies and gentlemen," the man in front of the crowd spoke into a circular object. "What if I told you that in just a few short years your automobile won't even have to touch the ground at all."

Well Italiana supposed that told her what the machine was though she still had no idea what it did. Her eyes flickered from the man next to her failing at flirting with a blonde, and the dark haired man on stage.

The man said something about a type of technology she had never heard of, something that must have been unknown to Asgard still. The Howard, she remembered his name was pressed something on a panel and the machine went floating into the air. It was definitely a fascinating thing though Italiana didn't understand the purpose or need behind such a machine.

Then something spark and the crowed gasped as the red machine crashed back to the ground. Italiana chuckled at the failed product as Howard attempted to compose himself.

"I did say a few years didn't I?" He did have a charismatic way to him she had to give him that. She wasn't paying attention any longer as she noticed the small man walking away and decided to follow.

He entered some building with displays of objects and other things, it almost looked like the room the teseract had once been kept in. When she was a teenager Loki had snuck her into the chamber to look at it along with a few other objects but Odin had found them shortly before they could do anything destructive.

Italiana had walked up the steps right as the small man finished his argument with his much bigger and taller friend. She decided to use the opportunity to approach him.

"Looks like you aren't having much luck tonight," she said using one of her dazzling smiles on him, a smile that was always the start to sweet talking a man or woman to bed.

"It never seems to be ma'am," he said fiddling with his fingers before stuffing them in his pockets.

"Don't call me that I'm no lady believe me, hence why I'm well wherever I am," she said with a shrug looking around the building before back at him.

"You mean New York?" Well that gave her the location that only problem was Italiana had no idea what realm this New York was in.

"New York huh?" She said as she looked out at the streets that were still crowded, biting down on her lip.

"You've never been to New York?"

"I've never been anywhere," her voice was gentle, something she didn't display much.

"So where are you from?" He asked his eyebrows furrowing together.

"A long way from here that's all I know," he seemed to think her odd and frankly she didn't blame him. Looking at the way she dressed compared to every other woman around her. Plus there was the way she talked with the vague answers she gave him.

"What's your name?" He asked her and then she realized that she had been talking to stranger this whole time. To Italiana the conversation had felt natural like she was trying to court someone to bed but she hadn't been. A thought came into her mind that she had never had a normal conversation with anyone but her family and friends, it almost felt nice to find someone else like that.

"Italiana, but I suppose you could call me Lana," she didn't know why she said it Loki had been the only other person to call her that and now she was about to let this stranger use the nickname. What was happening to her.

"Steve Rogers," he said holding his hand out for her to shake, which she gladly accepted.

"That's an odd name."

"Well I could say the same about yours," she chuckled at Steve's comment before noticing the crowd thinning out of the building.

"I guess we should leave, pleasure to meet you Steve Rogers," she said with a small curtsy, something that had become a natural thing when meeting and saying goodbye to someone new.

"You certainly are an odd woman aren't you?" He smiled as she turned around to leave the building.

"You have no idea," Italiana smiled as she turned once again before leaving Steve behind and heading to look for somewhere to stay.
