"Ugh!" I sighed flopping down on my newly made and bought bed. I have finally finished packing out all my boxes and stuff from our old house. I  never realised that I even had so many stuff.

    "KATIE!!"

Great. That's soo just what I need right now.

    "YES DAD?"

Silence

"YES DAD" I shouted but still nothing.

This happens every time.

He can't hear me yell my fucking loungs out from the other side of the house, but he can hear me whisper under my breath when he's right next to me.

This irritates me so much. He must be deaf or something.

I kind of feel sorry for him having to put up with me alone, but I think he has gotten the hang of things.

My mom left us about 2 years old and I hate her for that. My dad loved her so much and she meant the world to him. Not even my dad knows where she went, but we still get letters from time to time telling us that she is fine and with another man.

I really just hope that my dad will find someone here worth loving. He is very busy with work and stuff and I think he needs to take a break.

I ran down the stairs and found my dad sitting in the kitchen.

"Hey dad, why did you call me" I asked and went to sit on my favourite black leather reclining chair, positioned right in front of the tv.

"Do remember the Clarkes? You know, the ones who were our neighbors when you were little." My dad looked at me putting down his newspaper and giving his attention to me.

Of course I remember the Clarkes. Their son was my best friend when we were little. We were inseparable, but when we moved it broke my heart.

"Yeah dad, why?"

My dad stood up, pouring himself a glass of orange juice.

Gross.

"Miranda invited us to dinner tonight."

Miranda is Mason's mom. His dad died when he was little and his mom never married again.

"Okay, when?"

My dad put his empty glass in the sink before saying, "Around 8 o'clock. They live about 5 minutes away, so we can go just before 8.

"Okay", I said looking at the clock seeing that it was 5 o'clock. "I'm going to my room for awhile, the packing tired me out."

My dad looked at me worried, "We don't have to go you know that right?"

"I don't mind dad, really. I'll just take a short nap and I'll be fine," I said, standing up to hug my dad.

"You worry too much pops."

My dad smiled at said, "I think you should go take that nap now, you're going all soft on me."

I punched his shoulder lightly. "Not in a million years old man."

He chuckled, "Alright I'm going to the gym for awhile. Call me if you need anything," he said, grabbing his car keys and waving a goodbye before shutting the front door.

I went to my room and flopped down on my bed.

I really need some sleep.

I woke up to my phone blaring Sing, by Ed Sheeran. I put off my alarm and stood up with a groan, not wanting to leave my very comfortable bed.

Luckily I already picked out a dress to wear and quickly put it on with some matching sandals.

I left my hair naturally curly and just put on some mascara. Looking at my phone and seeing it was 19:56, I ran downstairs.

"I'm here, I'm here! I'm not that late, I could have taken longer. "

"Yeah you deserve a medal." My dad muttered. "Come on, we're going to be late" He said quickly leading me out the door.

He has always been this OCD about everything. I don't mind at all but sometimes it gets on my nerves.

After remembering something I quickly turned around and stopped him," Dad, didn't you forget your car keys?"

"No honey, they're just around the corner, we can walk."

I hate walking.

We stop at a light grey house with a white fence just one house from ours.

"Do they live that close to us?" I asked while raising my brows at my dad.

"Yup, but their son and his friends stay in the house between ours.

I looked at the house next to ours and got a creepy feeling.

Well this will be fun.
