Chapter 12- Intruder Alert

"Oh Marissa that dress is absolutely gorgeous," my mom complimented.

Ash and my mom had come to greet Marissa. I stood leaning by the wall behind my mom.

I thought she looked more like a lemon meringue pie, but that's my opinion. Her dress was a sleeveless yellow and white dress with a bow in the middle. It reminded me of the dresses my mother used to force me to wear when I was little. I had looked hideous.

As I listened to my mom gush over how beautiful she was, I couldn't help but notice that Ash and Marissa's intertwined hands. I was trying my best not to let it affect me but for some reason it was really getting to me. I blamed Ash, he was being so hot and cold with me and had made scrambled my mind completely. One minute I hated him the next minute I wanted to rip his clothes off.

I walked forward from behind my mom, and put on an obviously fake smile. If Ash wanted me to be nice to her, then that's just what he'd get. "Yo girl." I flung my hand in the air waving like a retard. "I agree you are looking like a mighty fine lemon today."

Marissa looked at me like I was crazy. "Err... thank you."

I swung my arm around her shoulders. "We had such an awesome time the last time you were here. I was nearly peeing my pants with excitement when I heard you were coming over for dinner." I could feel Ash eyes burning holes in me but I refused to look at him.

"I didn't realise you and Dotty had gotten so close," my mum said with a smile. From my reaction earlier, she must have thought I'd changed my tune.

I could tell by Marissa's scowl that she wanted to show her true feelings towards me but instead she also put on a fake smile and turned to me. "Dotty is such a sweet kid, I've always wanted a little sister." She then patted me on the head.

Now it was my turn to hide my scowl. "Sisters for life," I said with enthusiasm. I quickly removed my arm from around her shoulder and glanced at Ash. He wasn't engaged at all, he was staring into space, his expression cold.

"Why don't you Marissa and Ash, go hang out in the living room while Helena helps me finish dinner."

Me, alone in a room with Ash and Marissa. Now that was going to be ton of fun.

My mother was in conversation with Marissa as they walked off. Before I could follow, a hand grabbed my arm and pulled me back. What now.

"What are you playing at," he muttered angrily.

I yanked my arm out of his grasp. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Don't play dumb Dotty."

First he was angry at me for being rude towards her, now he was angry because I was nice to her. He really needed to make up his mind. "I'm just being nice, like you told me to be."

He glared down at me. "You're not being nice. You're just being fake and it's fucking annoying."

He did not just say that. Did he really just call be fake. "Your face is fucking annoying." Good comeback Dotty, very witty.

He sighed in frustration and walked off towards the living room. I was fuming. Why was Ash being such a complete asshole? I don't even know why I even went there with him. He was just a conceited arrogant ass with damn good hair. I could always shave it off as revenge. I should put that in Dotty's revenge book. If you're wondering what in the hell that is, it was a book I made when I was ten. It was all the revenge plots I had ever come up with written in one book. Some of them I had carried out and some of them were a bit too much on the violent side to carry out.
