BOOM
The noise shook through National City. Cars seemed to falter at that moment, people stopped to look towards the sky. Supergirl hovered above them, but like them, she had no idea what just made that sound. She felt the vibrations move through the air. Kara looked towards the horizon but she didn't see anything unusual.
"Did you hear that?" she spoke over the comms.
"I think everyone heard that." Alex replied.
"Where did it come from?"
"I've tracked it to a nearby valley, I'll meet you there."

Kara flew to the valley and landed softly by the edge of a lake. A black car screeched as it pulled up and Alex jumped out. A large spacecraft was floating in the middle of the lake. Kara glanced around but the area was still and silent.
"Let's take a look inside." Kara said. Alex nodded. Kara picked her up and she flew onto the top of the ship. Alex bent down and felt grooves in the roof.

"An escape hatch." Her fingers found the edge and lifted it. The darkness below revealed itself to be a narrow grey corridor. Without a word, they jumped down.

As they weaved through the corridors lights flicked on above them, casting eerie shadows. The corridor opened up into a large room that had a mirror covering the back wall. They both stepped cautiously towards it, their reflections showing a guarded curiosity in their faces. Kara reached the mirror first. She reached out and touched it. Suddenly a figure appeared in the mirror. Kara's eyes darted up to the reflection. It was her Mother. She spun around but only Alex was behind her.
"Are you okay?" Alex said.
She turned back around and saw that her mother was still reflected in the mirror. "I can see my mother."
Alex reached out her hand to Kara's arm. "We should go." But Kara shrugged Alex's arm off her own.
"Maybe she's come for me, after all this time." The reflection held out her arms for Kara. Kara took a step forward. "Mom?" she held out a hand. The reflection nodded.
Alex looked from Kara to the reflection with fear in her eyes. "Kara we're the only ones here, it's a trick."
Kara took a step forward and her hand met the mirror. The reflection got closer, it reached out and grabbed Kara's hand. She was thrust forward half into the mirror.
Alex screamed and grabbed onto Kara.
"It's not real!" she gasped, clutching Kara's arm. Kara's head was now a reflection. "The more you believe the stronger it gets! She's not your Mom, Kara." Kara's face suddenly appeared out of the mirror.
"Your family is here, Kara. Me, J'onn, Winn, Mon-El. We're your family." She could see Kara let go of the reflection and she fell back against Alex. The reflection disappeared. Kara was quiet for a moment. Alex put her hand on Kara's and she smiled gratefully.
"Let's get out of here." she said.
