"Cole." a whisper rippled through Cole's ears, rousing him.

"Cole." There it was again, but quieter. He opened his eyes to see Jay's silhouette next to his bed. He checked his alarm clock; it was three in the morning. What would Jay be asking him for so early in the morning? He listened to the distant rumble of Kai snoring. They'd all had a long day and surely Jay should be asleep.

"What is it Jay? Shouldn't you be asleep?" Cole yawned. The silhouette beckoned to him.

"I want to show you something." the silhouette of Jay opened the door and picked up a lantern he had somehow conjured out of thin air. Cole hadn't noticed this, but got out of bed and put on his travelling cloak, and but his scythe in its hilt. He was careful not to wake anyone up with his big black boots making the old wooden floor of the temple creak. He followed Jay into the courtyard where he summoned his dragon an d took off. Cole did the same and followed suit. Jay was going so fast Cole could only see the vivid blue light coming from his dragon and followed that. They came up to a clearing of the desert close to Ninjago city, where Jay's parents lived. The junkyard was quiet yet there was a red light coming from the caravan window. The silhouette of Jay had disappeared and the gate to the junkyard was open and Cole assumed he was inside and made his way in. Jay was stood facing away from him and lifted a hand in the direction of the caravan. Confused, Cole went inside. The smell of rot and decay slapped him in the face as he walked through the door and looked around. The bodies of Ed and Edna Walker lay on the floor covered in dried blood, making him gag and run out of the caravan. He turned to the gate but it swung shut by itself and Cole heard the lock click. So there he was, trapped with Jay and the bodies of Jay's parents, however Jay was nowhere to be seen. Cole was sure Jay was standing there, most likely immovable.

"Jay? Where'd you go?" Cole yelled into the eerie silence.  There was no answer except for the wind singing into the cold night. He tried at the gate but it wouldn't budge. He even tried his mega punch but that wouldn't work on the lock either. Then he tried to use airjitzu to get over the gate but there was some kind of force field trapping him inside. A rustling in the junk startled him and whipped out his scythe.

"Jay?" he called out, circling the area, scythe at the ready. A giant black winged creature with red eyes swooped towards him. He dodged the first attack, swung his scythe but missed the creature. The creature attacked again but only managing to give Cole a deep cut across his chest. He winced at the pain but backed off into the middle of the Junkyard where there were stones placed around him in a circle. The creature silently laughed menacingly and whispered so only Cole could hear.

"Right where I want you." it sneered. The creature then started to circle him, holding out its hands. It then started speaking in a strange language, in almost a chant. A soft, milky glow started to form from its hands and Cole was lifted into the air slowly, only getting to a certain height when he heard a cry over his head. He tried to look up but whatever the creature was saying, had drained Cole of all his energy. He was helpless, he was... afraid. For the first time in his life he was afraid, of dying, of losing everything. He was afraid of how his friends would see him after this all ended. Cole's eyes began to loose focus as a flash of light zoomed past him. This was it. After all that he had been through this was the end. Just as his eyes closed there was a flash of red light and he fell to the ground. He lay there unconscious as he heard the distant flapping of wings and the muffled sounds of Jay, Nya, Lloyd, Zane and Kai's voices. Then that's what woke him. Jay's scream roused him from unconsciousness. Cole's eyes shot open and he saw Lloyd's face inches from his own, covered in sweat and tears. He breathed a sigh of relief. Cole was bloodied and weak, he turned his head slowly and saw Jay crying his heart out into Nya's shoulder. Jay then looked up to see Cole lying on the ground awake and ran towards him, hugging him tightly.

"Thank god I've not lost you as well," Jay's voice was cracked and broken as the image of his nightmare come true still swarmed his mind. Cole gave him a weak smile as he hugged him back. He then felt another wave of pain and cried out.

"Sorry was that me?" Jay let go of Cole, his sorrow faded into dismay as he felt something wet on his ninja uniform, then to see the cut across Cole's chest.

"Jay, don't worry it's fine, it's just a little scratch, it just hurts okay." however Cole knew he wasn't. Drained energy, and a cut deep enough to scrape his heart. Cole's mind was completely blank, he didn't know what to say or do. Then again he couldn't particularly DO anything. He lay there listening to the sound of Jay breathing heavily, he had so many questions that he needed answering, but now was not the time.
