Awake

"Hey... what's the big idea?"

I woke up with a clouded mind and a pounding headache, finding myself lying on hard ground as I came to my senses. I rubbed my eyes to get a better view of where I was, but it was useless. In this pitch black darkness, I couldn't see a thing.

Carefully moving around, I rose to my feet and held my arms out as I tried to walk around, just so I could get an idea of what I had gotten myself into. I tried to recall how I could have possibly ended up in here, but the last memory that I had was of Gaara telling me goodnight.

"I went to sleep..." I gasped as my mind jumped to the worst case scenario; in the space of time that I had been asleep, was it possible that the Uchiha could have infiltrated Suna? Was I now a captive of theirs?!

"HEY!" I yelled out loudly, continuing to wander around aimlessly in the dark. "WHERE AM I?!"

I didn't know what I was expecting, because all I got was deafening silence.

"I'm so confused," I muttered to myself as I stumbled around, looking for anything that could help me out. In the end, I gave up and closed my eyes, realising that I would need light first.

"Kasai no jutsu!"

I eagerly awaited the flames to appear in the palms of my hands, but I was met with shock. Nothing happened.

"What?!"

After attempting the same jutsu a few more times, I tried anything and everything else. I was met with the same result. Nothing. I crossed my arms over my chest, then frantically began patting down the rest of my body.

"Did I break my chakra?!" I yelped, trying desperately to figure out what was going on. "What did I do?"

Unable to answer my own questions, I huffed and sat down with my arms crossed, annoyed at being left in the dark. Literally.

"Yo, Uchiha, this isn't funny!" I called out in irritation. "Okay, I get being imprisoned, but could you at least turn on the lights?"

With a sigh, I spread my legs and hit the ground, not knowing what to do.

"Wait a second..."

As I did so, I reached between my legs to see if I could feel any wetness. There was nothing.

I leapt to my feet again and began moving around erratically, realising something.

My body was completely back to normal. As in... felt like I didn't just give birth normal. There was no more dull pain, no more blood- or at least, any that I could feel. Placing my hands on my abdomen, I could feel that the baby fat was gone. It was just as flat as it had been before both Ayumi and Shisui had been born, and it was then that my suspicions were aroused.

"Hey! I just had a kid like... a few hours ago! What did you do to me?!" I yelled out, still in disbelief about how quickly my body had changed. "Well... I think it was a few hours ago?"

Confusing myself even more, I began pacing around in the dark as I tried to recollect my memories.

"Think... think!"

Biting on my thumb as I walked around in circles, I tried to remember just exactly what had happened since Shisui was born.

"Ah... the others came for a visit, we said goodnight... I was with Kannon... no, it wasn't Kannon... who was with me?"

A lightbulb in my mind went off as I remembered the elusive figure in my memory.

"YUKATA!"

I remembered it now; the Hisano being at my bedside, her hand on my face- and then her just falling to the ground.

That was it.

"That's not very helpful," I scowled, massaging my temples as I tried to think of how that could've led to me ending up here. "Think. Think."

But the more I tried to think, the more I realised it would get me nowhere.

"This is absolute bullshit. I have two children to take care of!" I yelled out.

Of course, there was no reply.
