living in los angeles was like living a dream to me.  i had been here for a few months and was so amazed by everything.  it was my new reality and i was happy that my mom talked me into moving here.

walking into island records for my second interview i couldn't help but be nervous.  i knew this was the interview where i would be able to choose to work for them or not and i knew what my answer.

i had met with andrew once before but i was still nervous.  i had to take a beta blocker pill beforehand to calm my shaky hands down and not have me freak out as much.  i didn't like to rely on them at all but for big events they were helpful.

dressed in all black with black skinny pants, a black polka dot long sleeve blouse shirt, a blazer over that, and some black booties that had a heel with them.  i wanted to look professional and my roommate had helped me go shopping for the interview.  my long brown hair was in curls as my side bangs were pinned back in a french braid.  my makeup clean and classy.

walking into island records i see pictures everywhere of everyone they have signed to their label.  the front desk is over to the left and its a black sleek counter along with the black couch that's to the side.  a woman who looked tall with tan skin and brown hair was currently behind the counter talking to someone on the phone.

"can i help you?" she asks me after she finished with the person on the phone.

"i'm here for an interview with andrew gertler," i tell her politely.

she nods her head and i assume she dials his number on the phone as she speaks to him letting him know i'm here.

"he will be with you in a few moments."

"alright, thank you."

as i wait for him i go and take a seat on the black leather couch.  i knew today we would be taking about the logistics of the job.  what it all entails and everything like that.  minutes later, a tall skinny man comes out in a suit with glasses.

"evelyn?  it's good to see you again.  you can follow me back to my office now."

i get up from the couch and follow him back surprisingly not shaking with nerves of anxiousness.

"you will do whatever shawn asks you to do without questions.  you will go with him to meet and greets, sound checks, on tours, paid vacations that are with the group.  basically whenever your on duty your working."

"i can do that," i tell him.

he smirks at me but it was more 'yeah, let's just wait and see,' kind of smirk.  as he goes through his drawers he pulls out the white paper as he puts it on the table, sliding it across the desk right in front of me.

"you can read it over and once you do here is this pen.  sign on this line along with today's date."

i make sure to try to look over everything but honestly i hate reading long contracts.  i mean honestly this thing was two pages long.  telling me all the things i can and cannot do and things to make sure i don't forget.

they didn't really care what i wore just that it couldn't really be that provocative, which was fine because i didn't wear that kind of clothing anyways.  they wanted me to be professional at all times, making sure i did whatever shawn needed.  i couldn't slack off or be late for anything.  but i was a timely person anyways so that wasn't something that i needed to work on.

one thing that i noticed that was in bold print do not fall in love with shawn mendes.

i don't know why that would be a requirement and i furrow my eyebrows as i read that.  it's in big bold print and i look up at andrew.  his eyebrows are raised creating lines and creases in his forehead.  hands are folded together.  i don't dare try to question him on it because i know he's looking for any sign of weakness that i can't handle this.  and i can handle it.
