Everything was happening in slow motion. Dinah had met us at the hospital with Normani, and everyone else came in shortly after we did. Camila was in so much pain. I have never seen her like this, not even with Carter. The doctors had to work fast to get her the epidural since they wanted to make sure they could get it to her before the sixth stage of dilation. She was already at five, and her water only broke a half an hour ago. I hoped that met this was going to be a fast labor, but boy was I wrong.

After the epidural, everything slowed down except the pain. Camila said the pain wasn't as bad, but it was still worse than when she had Carter. "So does this mean that Carter is your favorite?"

Camila gasped and flipped Dinah off. Through gritted teeth she replied. "How dare you? You know I would never choose- ARGH! Okay, yep, at this moment in time, Carter is my favorite."

I shook my head and reached for her hand. We are now three hours in, and she is only seven centimeters dilated. After much persuading from Dinah and myself, Camila finally took a nap. The doctors are not sure why Camila is in this much pain, they said usually if someone is in this much pain, they are having twins. The assured though she wasn't. The even did another ultrasound to prove and to make me stop threatening the doctors. Sure enough, there was only one baby girl. (I don't remember if I mentioned the gender, but it's a girl...Surprise?)

"Hey, Lo?" Dinah had walked back in with our food from Taco Bell. We didn't want to eat in front of Camila, but Camila insisted we did. We waited until she was asleep though.

"Yeah?"

"Why have you been so distant? I miss having you as a close best friend and if this about what happened before Camila, then I swear I don't-"

I cut her off shaking my head. "Dinah, I do not want to talk about what happened before Camila. I have been distant because what happened between you and Camila scared the shit out of me. I thought she was going to tell me you still had feelings for me, and Dinah I wasn't prepared to have that talk with you again."

A groggy Camila sat up from her bed. "What talk?" She yawned and looked at Dinah and me for a response.

"You didn't tell her?"

"No."

"Tell me what?" The doctor walked.

"Saved by the bell."

"More like saved by the baby, it's time to start pushing."
