Stolen

Chapter Six - Wild

I sat on the bed staring up at the boring white ceiling. After my encounter with Enzo I felt little need to do anything other than wallow in my sorrows.

After a few hours of pacing the room, I'd come to realize these f*ckers had really taken the fact that my profession involves being somewhat of an escape artist to heart.

The ventilation system was reinforced with bars, built into the mainframe of the walls. The windows were bulletproof, which usually if you knew what you where doing could be bent just right to pop the pane out of the frame, but these windows were not only double-panned but also lovingly lined with at least an inch of solid steel.

There was no escaping this hell hole unless it was through the front door.

Not that escaping was even really an option at this point.

His cold words still echoed in my mind.

If she escapes again shoot her.

My sleep was restless, and I found my dreams where plagued with stress-induced memories from the day before.

Turns out fighting for your life numerous times within a twenty-four hour period will do that to you.

Of course, once I did finally manage to get comfortable I was rudely awakened by a presence that was becoming increasingly inconvenient by the day.

"Rise and shine sweetcheeks!" Nikolai's voice boomed into the room along with a blinding white light.

"Get the hell out!" I snapped instinctively covering my head with a pillow.

"Oh, I see, feisty in the morning."

Nikolai made an attempt to grab one of my legs and upon instinct, my other foot kicked his hand away whilst simultaneously managing to nail him in the chin.

A string of colorful curse words followed.

" I am not a morning person." I growled through clenched teeth, wanting nothing more than to go back to sleep, silently praying that God would have mercy on me and Nikolai would be struck down by lightning.

Indoors.

"Well may I remind you of your current situation love... you don't make the rules anymore."

And with that...I was up.

"Do you really want to do this? Again? I have knocked you out twice pal! I don't think it's a coincidence!"

"Okay A. cheap shots...both times. And B. Yes love that fire keep it going you're going to need it!"

A black leather uniform was thrown into my lap and I rubbed my sleep-deprived eyes in confusion. Looking down, it appeared to be some kind of spandex material designed for athletics.

"What are you talking about?"

I squinted my eyes adjusting to the light, following Nikolai's large form as he moved casually throughout the tiny room. I hadn't even thought he was that tall, but he looked a little funny in the limited space.

" You have training."

"What?"

"Training? Remember? I explained this all to you yesterday if you don't want Enzo to kill you-you really need to keep up. "

I had to restrain myself from physically growling.

This man infuriated me.

I took a deep breath pulling my aching body off the bed."And I thought I explained to you that I didn't need training. I'm a black belt and I've knocked you out twice. "
