Chapter 16

Alex rested her head on my chest as I wrapped my arms around her. She looks absolutely stunning in the dress she has on. It just fit her perfectly. She squealed when I lifted her over my shoulder. I carried her to the living room and put her on the couch. I laughed with her when I began to tickle her sides.

"HARRY!" She screamed, "stop it!"

"No" I laughed as I continued.

"Stop" she whined between laughs.

"Only if you....." I trailed off.

"If I what?" she whined again.

"Marry me"

I stopped so she could answer.

"Harry." she said in a serious tone.

"What?"

"We're still so young"

"And? We've known each other for years! Look at all the crazy things we have been through. We can make it!"

"Harry I can't" She began to tear up.

"Why?" I asked concerned as I wiped a tear from her eye.

"My parents were married at a young age, and now they aren't together anymore. I don't want to be like them."

"Baby I know" I pulled her onto my lap as she cried.

"I just don't want things to go that way Harry."

"Who says that will be us? Why do we have to be like them?"

"We don't but I'm scared."

"It's okay. I know the perfect song for you right now."

"Which one?"

Where did all the people go?

They got scared when the lights went low

I continued with the song as she finally stopped the tears.

I looked up at Niall, who was standing at the top of the stares smiling.

"What?" I asked as I looked back down at the hand Alex had wrapped around my own.

"Alex," he began, "just say yes to the poor lad. He won't let things end like your parents. He loves you too much for that."

I looked down at her. She smiled at me for a moment. "Yes" she agreed giving me a kiss.

"Yayyyyyyyyy!" Niall cheered running down the stairs.
