Today is Sunday. You and Ethan are in New Jersey for the holidays. You were laying with your face pressed against his shirtless chest while the wind whistled viciously outside the large window. One of his arms was loosely draped across your back while the other was tangled in your hair, holding your head close to him in a protective way. Your legs were tangled together and all was peaceful. Everything was silent aside from the crackling of the fire and the wind blowing outside.. but those noises were soothing. Ethan broke the silence when he spoke up. "You know what y/n?" He croaked. "Hmm" you hummed into his chest. He shifted and slid down a bit so that your head was now aligned with his. He looked you in the eyes and gave you a sleepy smile. Damn his eyes were gorgeous, even half open, you could still see the love in them when he looked at you. "I love you" he said slowly and tenderly. This caught you off guard and he noticed. "I know.. it's a bit soon but I really do love you. I just want you to know. You don't have to say it back if you're not ready" he said sweetly. You were in awe. How could someone as beautiful as he is actually.. love you? Of course, you loved him too. For a while now. But you two had only officially started dating 2 weeks ago and you didn't want to scare him off or go too fast. After all, you weren't even sure if he loved you back. But he did. He said it. You were so lost in love in this moment that you didn't even realize you smiling like an idiot for a straight minute. "Uh babe?" Ethan chuckled at your expression. This snapped you out of your trance and you quickly spoke "I- I love you too E.. for a while now actually" you giggled a bit after your statement. Ethans smile grew as he leaned in and closed the small space between you, filling it with love. The kiss was passionate yet sweet, and everything was calm in this moment. You loved him.. with everything you had, and knowing he loved you too with the same compassion made your heart full.
