Chapter 2

He woke up, completely rested, and smiled when he saw rufus lyying at his feet. "Gmrning Rfs" he groaned, and sat up.

He had received a message the night before, which said he had a day off, because the suspect confessed, so the case was canceled.

He put his feet on the ground and patted Rufus, finally Waking him up. "bwffff" Rufus refused to get up, so he decided to go and make breakfast. He walked into the kitchen and took the dog bowl, then filled it and placed it next to the bed.

He cracked two eggs and put them in a pan, totally forgetting to put any aslt in it.

He reached in the cabinet and pulled a glass out, filling it with milk he took out of the fridge, and looked at his egg, he was hungry, but knew he had to wait, or he would get sick.

He turned the TV on and sat on a chair. "Nothing interesting I see" he said to Rufus who finally decided to come out of bed.

He turned the TV off and stood up, checking on his egg, seeing it was done, he put it on a plate and took a bite, then realising he forgot the salt. Luckily for moment like this, he had a bottle of chili sauce, his favourite.

He just started his computer when he heard the newspaper, so he put a shirt on and walked out the door, grabbed the newspaper and waved to Sam, the daughter of Hester and André from the other side of the street. He walked back in and read the front page.

As soon as he saw the picture, he threw up.
