Kady Rhodes is Red. Robert Provos is Silver. The cosmos had every reason to change their paths, yet for some reason it couldn't keep them apart. Being from two entirely different worlds, he a son of the High House of Provos and she a daughter of the servants that catered to their every whim, no one expected them to even be friends, let alone so in love they wished to be together for the rest of their lives. The betrayal and heartbreak on the road ahead causes a rift between them, one so big it would not require a mere bridge to cross. However, to survive the coming storm, they must stay by each other or risk damage beyond repair.

PLOT DETAILS ➛
➛ Kady is a regular Red, no newblood abilities. She was born as a servant into the Provos household in the same year as Lady Provos had Robert. ➛ They grow up together, playing secretly as the only two children in the household. Young Kady was always fascinated by Robert's telekinesis and he was equally amazed by her grace when dancing, even when she was really small. ➛ They keep their friendship quiet for a long time, and by the time they're eighteen, they have fallen in love. After around four years, Robert is tired of lying about their relationship and asks her to marry him. ➛ So they can be public, they pretend she is a 'common' Silver also with the ability of telekinesis, which Robert simulates for show. ➛ Around the time House Provos moves to Whitefire palace to prepare for Queenstrial, Kady's youngest sister is kidnapped by the Scarlet Guard and used to blackmail Kady to get information using her status. ➛ It breaks her heart to betray Robert, but she complies, because she doesn't want to lose her sister. ➛ Queen Elara finds out about Kady being Red and persecutes her. She tortures information out of her in front of Robert (who is restrained by Arvens), and he finds out about her feeding information to the Scarlet Guard all along. He feels betrayed, thinking it was her choice and that she was just using him to gain leverage and status. ➛ Kady is locked up afterwards. She finds out her older sister is actually Scarlet Guard and a teleporter newblood and her younger sister had never been in danger. She comes to free her when they hear what happened through contacts in the palace. ➛ Kady doesn't want to be saved, she wants to be with Robert and have a chance to explain, so escapes the Scarlet Guard and returns to Whitefire to find him. The Scarlet Guard never anticipated she actually cared for Robert, so never prepared for what she might do. She risks everything to see him one last time, and successfully finds him, but Robert is so broken from the betrayal, he sends her away, right into the hands of the guards. ➛ On trial for impersonating a Silver and seducing a member of the High Houses, a verdict is passed that seals Kady's fate: she is sentenced to death. ➛ In a cell on her last day, Robert comes to visit her to say goodbye. Kady explains to him that she had no choice but to betray him because of the blackmail and he realises what he did. Robert tries to convince her to run away with him, that he would break open her cell and destroy anyone that got in their path, go to Piedmont and restart, but she talks him down, not wanting to make him a fugitive from his old life. They say their final goodbyes and she tells him that she still loves him and forgives him.

➛ Has a reckless attitude when it comes to respect of other Silvers and it often gets her in trouble. ➛ She became a full-time servant in the Provos household at the age of ten. ➛ Kady calls Robert 'Rob'. ➛ Robert taught her to ballroom dance when they were fifteen in Kady's spare time. ➛ She dislikes the colour red, because she thinks it's too bold. She prefers pastel blues and purples and golds. ➛ Kady has one older brother and sister and one younger sister.
ROBERT ➛
➛ His favourite past time is building houses of cards. ➛ When he was younger, Kady helped him name all of the trees lining the drive up to his house. ➛ In his spare time, he tutored Kady on things like reading and writing and basic geography and history. ➛ His younger sister is a participant in Queenstrial.
