A Winters Day

Bitter cold of the wintery air
Nipping at your fingers,
Freezing you to the bone.

Bundled in layers
Like a small kitten,
Trying to stay warm in the cold.

Breaths of warm air
Misting out into white clouds,
Disappearing just as it appears.

Quietness spreading
over the land,
By animals going into peaceful sleep.

Warmth of the fire
inside,
Warming you up.

Hot Chocolate is waiting
To be drank,
Keeping you warm from the inside out.

Hoping that the cold
Will pass over soon,
So you can go out again.
