Biting my lip as my gaze dropped to the ground not wanting to stare at his piercing gaze.

"Sorry, I can't."

Muttering, I turned away, fast walking away, ignoring the questioning gazes I could feel on my back from his Dad and Gran.

"Emily!"

Jogging instead, I ended up having to sprint as I could tell he was right behind me, my breathing began to quicken, realising I was getting out of breath, not having even run for a good 30 seconds.

Damn my non-existent athletic skills.

I let out a yelp as I was engulfed in a pair of arms, being held captive.

"Let go of me." I demanded, pushing away from his grip, even though it was useless.

"Please, we need to talk." Letting out a huff, I turned around glaring at him, before looking down at my arm.

"Let me go." I gritted.

Sighing, he let go of my arm, grabbing hold of my arm I crossed them over my chest.

"You have 2 minutes."

"I'm sorry for everything, for leaving, for making you feel like crap, I never meant to make you feel that way but I will spend the rest of my life trying to make it up to you. Please don't leave me." He voiced, his eyes pleading for me to stay.

Looking at him, it took everything in me for not to throw my arms around him and try to comfort him.

But I couldn't.

"I-I need space, this is all too much for me to handle." I whispered.

Looking away from him, not wanting to see the hurt on his face anymore, I turned around stalking off, not once glancing back at him even though I could feel his gaze on me.

By the time I made it home, I was tired, but I couldn't help the tears that had slid down my face as soon as I closed my front door behind me.

"Emily?" I heard my mom call out.

Taking a deep breathe, I wiped my eyes.

"H-hey Mom, sorry I'm late I had to catch up on a few things, I'm super tired so I think I'm going to head to bed early." I called out, hopping she didn't hear my voice shake from my crying.

Not waiting for a response I made my way to my room, closing the door behind me before I threw myself on my bed.

The rest of my tears falling until I passed out from exhaustion.

Days passed by like a blur, Ashton tried talking to me, but I ignored him, turning the other way whenever I saw him near me.

"You need to talk to him. Don't you see how miserable he is without you?" Sky stated as we sat in the cafeteria, looking over at Ashton's table, I could see him glaring at everything that moved, a frown on his lips.

"I don't care." I lied.

"Whatever you say." Sky sang making me roll my eyes.

"I need to head to the library to turn in some books, I'll meet you in class?" I questioned as I looked at the time and saw there wasn't much time before lunch finished.

"Yeah okay, I need to talk to the cheerleaders anyways." She replied. Sky being in the cheer-leading squad since she was little.

Bidding our goodbyes, I left the cafeteria, my eyes flickered over to Ashton's table to see him staring straight at me. Blushing I looked away, quickly leaving.
