                          Mavis

Sunlight shone through the cafeteria as I plopped down my tray on the table and sat down. I began to pick up my hamburger when I heard a familiar voice.

"Mavis!" It was Mason (my best friend). Well, one of my best friends.

He perched on the bench next to me as we playfully shared a fist bump.

"Whats up Mason?" I jeered while bumping shoulders with him playfully. He bumped back playfully, his smile seemed to radiate pure happiness.

"Nothing much. Physics sucks ass though." He sighed before rubbing his hand over his blond locks, his green eyes suddenly becoming tired.

I patted his shoulder in mock sympathy. I sigh tiredly, "School will be over soon. Just another year." He groaned, resting his forehead against the wooden table. "School is torture," he muttered, before closing his eyes and drifting off.

"Hey Mavis." I turned my head back around behind me. I spotted the boys, Leo, Luca, Anthony, and Dylan. All of my best friends. I smiled brightly, pointing with my thumb down at Mason who was fast asleep. The boys all chuckled to themselves. We all knew how lazy Mason could be.

They sat down at the table as we began to talk about our classes.

I met these boys when I was just three years old, thirteen years ago. We met at the park, and us being innocent children, we all decided to play together. Mason with his green eyes and blond hair, Leo with his black hair and eyes. Luca with his blond hair and blue eyes. Anthony with his brown hair and golden eyes. And Dylan with his brown hair and brown eyes. We were total opposites yet we were all the same. We became best friends instantly and we always had each others' backs. I love them like they're my brothers. At least, I think.

Suddenly, the entire cafeteria began to quiet down and as if on cue the school's bad boy, Jesse Davidson, strode through the cafeteria. I turned my glare towards him which he turned his eyes to immediately. He sent one of his 'killer smiles' which seemed to "make every girl in the room faint". Such bullshit.

He stalked towards our table, a spark of interest gathering in his sharp eyes. He seemed to give the boys a passing glance, even though they were glaring daggers at him. I tried my best to hold back a laugh but I was failing.

He stopped in front of me and leaned down to face me. He smirked and leaned a bit closer, making me shut up immediately, and send him a death glare. He just smirked more, which pissed me off greatly. "Hey there, Mavis," he said smoothly, kissing me on the cheek unexpectedly. It caught me off guard and I started, barely understanding what happened before I saw Leo and Luca jump up, hostility burning off of them. Leo stared daggers at Jesse and grabbed the back of Jesse's jacket, making Jesse turn and face him. His smirk immediately left his face, a look of hate rested on Jesse's golden eyes.

Luca stood in front of me and shoved Jesse back further. Jesse then looked at Luca, who wasn't backing down for anything. I watched my two friends handle Jesse, shock still resting on my face.

I was about to stand up, when a flashing pain went off in the back of my head. It was a soccer ball?! Why can't the jocks stop throwing those around. It seriously hurts people. I groaned, my temples throbbing. I could barely keep my eyes open,to see Leo's worried face, before collapsing and completely blacking out.

*-*

"I have to tell her. I can't hold back my feelings for her. I love her too much."

I squinted my eyes, before reality hit me, and I remembered everything. Wait, what did I just hear?

"I know how you feel. I love Mavis, too. But we can't just spring it on her." That was definitely Anthony. And did he just say he loved me??

"I agree. But I want to tell her badly. I know she loves us too," Luca murmured and Leo agreed. I kept my eyes closed, pretending to be asleep. I needed to hear this.

"I want to be with her," Mason murmured.

"I want to be with her too," Dylan whispered. I could see the boys agreeing.

I could feel the sleepiness pulling me back in. It was almost too hard to resist, and right as I accepted the darkness, Mason's voice broke through my hazed spell.

"Then let's claim her."
