Hide your brothers, Hide your sons. Richie Wheeler(Tozier) and Mike Wheeler are on the scene. They may not know it yet, but once something gets pointed out to them by their friends they'll never be able to go back to the way things were.
Richie walked towards his friends, smiling widely.
Richie always gets really excited for his birthday. It gives him an excuse to be loud and full of energy, not that he didn't do that in the first place. The losers have an annual tradition of having birthday parties at Bev's house because she lived with her aunt and had a big basement where the seven of them, plus Mike and any of his friends, could sleep comfortably. Richie always drags Mike to the parties, which Mike protests to but ends up enjoying. He's become fairly good friends with Eddie, Stan and Bev who make the nights more enjoyable when he's being forced somewhere with Richie.
Richie has known Bill, Stan and Eddie since kindergarten. They became best friends and gained three more when fifth grade rolled around and Ben transferred to Hawkins elementary. Ben became friends with the fours boys aswell as Bev and Mike so both groups just started hanging out.
For how they became semi-popular, it was beyond them. They were just a bunch of dorks who loved each other, which apparently made being their friend seem cool. They never really hung out with anyone else except for the few guys who Mike was friends with.
'Sup trashmouth' Mike said punching Richie's arm when he walked up to the group
'The sky' Richie replied cheekily, pulling Eddie in to noogie him
'Heyyyyyy! I know it's your birthday but what's with the abuse?!' He said pushing Richie off of him and trying to straighten his hair back out.
'You're just adorable Eddie spaghetti' Richie said pinching his cheek
'G-get a room!' Bill teased them.
Richie blushed, pulling away from Eddie. He pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, trying to subtly hide his blush.
They started laughing and discussing the party that night. They would've waited until the Friday of the week, so everyone could stay the next day without worrying about school the next morning, but Richie's drama for his birthday always made an exception.
'So what did you get Mike today?' Stan asked when they flowed to the topic of gifts.
'I got him a ring that said bitch and he got me one that says jerk' He said showing everybody
'Nice' Eddie said holding Richie's hand with both of his to get a better look.
Richie's blush came back full force when he saw how Eddie's nose scrunched up and his eyes squinted slightly to see the fine details of the ring.
Everybody let Richie off the hook for the day so no one teased him about how red he became. They all chatted until the bell rang, sending them on their way to homeroom.
