the girls were stunned at their dorm-mate's outburst. eunji and chaebyul shifted uncomfortably in their seats as hyusu looked to ji-ae worriedly. "that was unnecessary." kymin offered, leaning lazily against the back of her chair. "you - " the girl was about to lash out when ji-ae stepped in. "now, don't start anything, you both. we might have been a little too rowdy, but it was all in good fun." she reasoned. "and kymin, don't be rude." kymin frowned. "it was the truth." she whispered, but nodded grudgingly. minah rolled her eyes and stalked off towards the kitchen. she ran her hands through her hair and pinched the bridge of her nose, trying to keep her annoyance from seeping through (not like it hasn't already done enough damage). the two spirits at the table  shrugged at the scene before them before vanishing out the door. the girls were too shocked by the turn of events to notice their disappearance.at the sink, minah pondered over her own behaviour. she hadn't meant to get angry at her dorm-mates, but she had always had a pet peeve - too much noise in the morning. she found her morning to be most productive and the ruckus was especially distracting for her, not to mention that the morning consultation didn't go as well as she'd hoped. she made a beeline to her cupboard as she began organizing her school supplies.

back at the table, the girls picked at their breakfast warily. "unnie.." eunji tugged on ji-ae's arm. "is she still a-angry at us for yesterday?" ji-ae smiled wryly as she shook her head. "no, I think it must have been something that happened during her consultation." ji-ae made a mental note to catch minah alone and speak to her. the other girls nodded as they grabbed their plates. they packed their backpacks in silence as eunji hesitantly approached chaebyul. "chaebyul, we have the same classes.." she stuttered, hurriedly adding, "can I call you c-chaebyul?" the other girl widened her eyes in surprise. "y-yes! let's go to class together!" smiling shyly, the two headed out of the dormitory. kymin flung her backpack over her shoulder as she bided goodbye to the rest. ji-ae and hyusu were left alone with minah. "minah, come walk with us to the school block!" ji-ae suggested, leading hyusu towards the door. minah stiffened at the gesture, and declined after a moment's deliberation. "it's okay. I have to drop by the printing shop." ji-ae nodded as both of them waved goodbye.

"unnie.." hyusu started as they walked down the corridor. "does it feel like minah doesn't.. like us?" ji-ae pondered for a second, biting down on her bottom lip, before replying, "no, silly; it's just that we haven't had the chance to get to know her. she has something of the solitary about her; there's probably a reason for that.. I wish she would tell us more about herself." hyusu nodded and brooded over the matter. "we've reached your homeroom." ji-ae shook hyusu out of her reverie. "see you after school!" hyusu bowed as she entered the class. ji-ae gave the younger a reassuring smile as she turned in the direction of her own classroom when she 'bumped' into two figures rounding the corner. tiffany gave a goofy grin as she proceeded to introduce younju to ji-ae. accustomed to tiffany's frequent antics, ji-ae called after them to have a good time as they parted. it's better than being in class. tiffany immediately dragged the other spectre along the hallway. shaking her head, ji-ae quickened her pace.

chaebyul and eunji had just settled down in their mathematics lecture. the professor wasn't in yet but the class was relatively quiet. the students were way too sleepy to cause any trouble in the early morning.chaebyul looked around, hoping to find her brother and cousin. they were all freshmen. unfortunately, it didn't seem like they were in the same class. as chaebyul and eunji laid out their stationery and notebooks, a familiar figure entered the room. minah walked rigidly, avoiding all eye contact and making a beeline to the only desk with two unoccupied seats. chaebyul and eunji sneaked peeks at the girl, wondering about her uncanny demeanour. "should we ask her to join us?" eunji finally broke the silence. chaebyul gave a slight shake of her head. "it didn't end well the last few times.." she pointed out. eunji released the breath that she had unknowingly held, thankful for the fact that she didn't have to start a conversation with the intimidating classmate. why did I even suggest that? chaebyul and eunji returned to writing their names on their notebooks. none of them noticed as minah stole a glance at the empty seat beside her.

class began soon after. their professor was a kindly old man who started class with a self-introduction. professor lee announced his favourite food as bokkeumbap - kimchi fried rice, especially if it is homemade. the students then took turns introducing themselves and belting out their favourite food.

"I'm jeon jungkook and I love pizza - anything dough-y actually."

"I'm jung soojung and I like burritos." there were shushed murmurs as the students exclaimed at the unique choice of food.

just as eunji was about to introduce herself, the classroom door swung open. "I'm sorry I'm late!" a bespectacled boy with a bowl cut stuck out his tongue and scratched his head apologetically. he made his way through the clutter of desks, bumping his hips painfully into a few corners. nonetheless, he whispered excitedly as he passed the girls' desk, "byul, we're in the same class!", before slipping into the seat behind theirs. chaebyul gave a small, excited wave as eunji tilted her head in confusion. the professor gave a grimace, but nodded at eunji to go on.

"I'm seo eunji and I love baking and eating pastries." the professor nodded admiringly as he indicated chaebyul's turn.

chaebyul stood up unsteadily, still not over the fact that her best friend had been assigned to her class. "I'm zhang chaebyul and I love.. food." chaebyul did a double take as she realized her mistake, but the entire class had erupted into laughter, including eunji. she hurried to correct her mistake, but found herself chortling along, glad that they weren't mocking. her best friend grinned at her before standing up for his turn.

"I'm lee sungyeol and I like fruits!" he grinned. his partner gave him a high-five, before shouting out a "me too!" the class erupted into giggles once again. everybody looked expectantly at the well-dressed girl at the desk beside them.

"I'm kwon minah." the monotonous voice was a sharp contrast to sungyeol's.

"and I don't have a favourite food."
