Chapter 2: Erick

My first class was math. It felt like it was going so slow because I wasn't focused on math. I was focused on talking to Erick. Wow, isn't it such a coincidence that Erick, a guy I've liked since the second grade, has the same exact classes as me? What a shocker...

Class ended what seemed like a million years later. Then I was off to my second class, which was science. I love science. I understand it really well. I was hoping the time would go by super slow, because my next period was third period! Which meant I had to tell Erick the big secret I've been keeping from him for years. I was so nervous. I had a knot in my stomach, and it wasn't the excited kind, it was the nervous kind. But I knew I had to keep focus on what I was doing. Even if it was going to be extremely hard when Erick's beautiful face is right next to you. Science went on, until it ended.

My face began to get hot as everyone was getting up from their desks. This was really happening. It was actually time for me to talk to Erick. Oh, and it's also a big coincidence that Erick's locker is right next to mine! "Hey Erick!" I tell him. "Sarah! I missed you! How have you been?" Erick asked. Him just saying those words sent shivers down my spine. This wasn't going to be easy. "I missed you too, and I've been great." I said trying to keep it together. "How have you been?" " I've been doing pretty good." Erick said. "Oh that's good. Listen I gotta tell you something." I said. "Okay, I'm all ears." stated Erick. But before I got a chance to say anything, someone interrupted. "Hey Erick!" said a voice I didn't expect to hear. "Hey Jessica." Erick said. "Do you wanna get out of school so we could have some me and you time, like getting some ice cream?" Jessica asked. "Not right now Jessica. I'm talking to Sarah right now." Erick said sounding embarrassed. " I don't know why you hang out with her. If you ever were seen at school hanging out with her, you'd be so embarrassed. I'll have you know Sarah that me and Erick are DATING, so we would really appreciate it if you would back off." Jessica fussed at me.

"Jessica don't be rude. This isn't you. Stop acting that way and leave Sarah alone." Erick confessed. "Whatever. See you tonight cutie." said Jessica annoyingly. As she left she glared at me with the most disgusting face. She's hated me since I started crushing on Erick. "I'm really sorry Sarah. She can get really jealous when she sees me with other girls. She always wants to be the one in a million." Erick said. "It's totally fine, I understand." I said. But really it was tearing me up inside. "So after all that chaos, what did you wanna tell me?" Erick asked. "You know what it wasn't so important so it doesn't matter anymore." I said frustrated. "I gotta go." I said. "Sarah wait!" said Erick trying to get my attention again. But I didn't wanna turn back. I was running to find Cassy. How was I going to explain this to her? What's going to happen with mine and Erick's friendship when Jessica's going to be tagging along with him wherever he goes? Will I ever get to tell Erick how I feel?
