Sonakshi smiled at Dev's sleeping form.

A strand of hair was falling over his eyes. Sonakshi reached out to remove it. Dev stirred a bit on feeling Sonakshi's hand on his forehead. But he didn't wake up. Sonakshi smiled again.

They had spent an amazing time last night. They had finally made love. And it had been something she would never forget. It was every bit as romantic as she had dreamed of it. She suddenly giggled when she remembered how scared she had been before it. She looked lovingly at Dev. He had soothed all her worries away. And he had kept his promise. Their first night had indeed been the best.

Sonakshi broke out from her reverie when she heard a light knock on the door. They were at Dixit Mansion. They had decided to finish all the post marriage rituals here and then return to the penthouse. And what a grand marriage it had been. Asha had fulfilled all her dreams through Sonakshi and Dev's wedding and hence had been super happy throughout the festivities.

But the crying during Bidaai couldn't be stopped. Mother and Daughter had refused to let go of each other. That is where Dev stepped in and got them to get a grip on their emotions. And surprisingly Elena had played the matured one and had taken responsibility of taking care of Asha along with Raunita of course!

Sonakshi rolled over to the other side and sat up quickly. Hastily putting on her clothes, she walked to the door. She opened it in one swift motion and was faced with the funniest sight. There stood Neha, Riya and Nikki with their hands over their eyes. Sonakshi laughed.

"Tum log aankhein band karke kyun khade ho?"

Riya giggled. But Neha jabbed her with an elbow and shut her up. Then She turned to Sonakshi, eyes still covered.

" Humein koi ulti seedhi sight nahin dekhna haiIsiliye precaution lekar aye hai!"

This time Nikki started giggling. Sonakshi laughed too. But before she could answer she felt a presence behind her followed by Dev's deep voice.

"Toh subah subah disturb karne kyun aye ho?"

Sonakshi turned sideways. She was relieved to find Dev in track pants and a white t-shirt. She stared longer. He looked really good even in such a simple get up. His messy hair and sleepy eyes just added to his looks. She sighed. But she didn't realise that she was being observed.

Riya suddenly piped up, " Bhaabi ki aankhein toh bhaiyya se hath hi nahin rahi."

Sonakshi immediately snapped her head back to face Riya. Her face turned red while the siblings laughed away. Dev threw his hand around her shoulder.

"Well, jiska husband itna handsome ho, uski biwi ka yeh haal hona toh normal hai!"

Sonakshi jabbed him with her elbow.

"Ow!"

Neha, Riya, Nikki laughed again.h

Neha held up a hand, "Buss ab bohot hua romance. Abhi Sona Bhabi humarey saath ayegi. First breakfast banan hai aapko. Yaad hai naah?"

Sonakshi slapped her forehead.

"Main bhool hi gayi thi. Hey bhagwaan. Aaj achha khana nahin bana toh pata nahin kya hoga."

Dev put a hand on her shoulder.

"Achha hi hoga. Aur nahin bhi hua toh Maa tumsey kuch nahin kahegi."

Sonakshi smiled at his optimism. This is exactly why she had fallen for him. But before she could hug him, Neha tugged her away shushing Dev's protests. Before she disappeared out of sight Dev winked at her cheekily. She blushed a bright red.

She would never get used to these things.

An hour and a half later, she stood in the kitchen panicking over the breakfast. She had made Aloo Poori. It was simple enough. Nothing extravagant. And Ishwari seemed to have been impressed by her simplistic choice.

Sonakshi had been delighted when Ishwari had patted her on the back and said, "Iss samay bhi tum theek se soch pa rahi ho yahi bohot hai bahu. Mujhey tumpar poora bharosa hai. Aloo puri achha hi banega."

Now she stood separating the food into plates. According to this tradition in the Dixit house, Dev would have it first, then she would taste it, followed by the rest of the family members. She could hear them at the table now. She hurried her movements.

She brought out Dev's plate while their help, Keechu Bhaiyya brought out the rest. Dev smiled at her as she placed the plate before him. Ishwari smiled at Sonakshi's nervous state.

"Daro mat. Dev ke paas baitho."

She smiled gratefully at her mother-in-law and sat beside Dev.

"Sonakshi achha khana banati hai Ma. Yeh toh mujhey pehley se hi pata hai. Koi gadbad ho hi nahin sakti."

Sonakshi grew even more tensed. It wasn't about that. She did know how to cook. But this was an important moment. She really wanted everything to go well.

Dev tore a small piece of the poori, dipped it in the aloo and put it into his mouth. He chewed and chewed and chewed. Sonakshi felt as if she would collapse of all that tension.

"Boliye na Dev, kaisa hai?"

Dev smiled.

"Bohot achha hai!"

Sonakshi sighed in relief and smiled.

Ishwari looked at Dev's expression carefully and smiled as well.

"Bahu, ab tum khao."

Sonakshi nodded and had her first bite too. And she immediately spit it out and lunged for a glass of water. She sipped the water and turned to Dev.

"Dev, ismey toh namak bohot zyada hai! Aap issey kaise kha rahey hai?"

Everyone gasped, except Dev, Sonakshi and Ishwari.

Dev smiled, " Toh? Iss chote se problem ke liye main khana hi na khaun? Tumhari mehnat aise hi janey doon? Pyaar toh hai naah khane me? Who iss namak o balance kar dega."

Ishwari clasped her hands under her chin.

"Theek hi toh keh raha hai Dev. Aaj hum sab thodi zyada namak waali aloo poori hi kha lengey."

Sonakshi didn't know what to say.

She looked at everyone around her. The enthusiasm with which they dug into the food brought tears to her eyes.

Her eyes met Ishwari's. She nodded gratefully at Ishwari who just gave her a dismissive wave and enjoyed her breakfast.

Her eyes returned to Dev. He was looking at her lovingly.

She reached out and squeezed his hand.

She would do everything possible for these people.

They were her family now.
