Yoongi got really into the book, so the sound of the doorbell made him flinch. He sighed and folded the corner of the page because he might want to read it later. He got up and walked to the door, in his ultimate burrito form. He opened the door lazily. Hoseok seemed very happy as Yongi opened the door for him. He really wanted to hug the older, but he wasn't sure if that would be appropriate.
"Hello!" Hoseok said brightly.
"Come in." Yoongi said and went back to the living room.
Hoseok noticed that the house seemed cleaner. He didn't comment that and simply sat down next to the boy. Yoongi put on a movie in silence. They were quiet, but that didn't mean they weren't enjoying each other's presence. At some point, Yoongi rested his head on Hoseok's shoulder. Yoongi liked this, and Hoseok didn't mind being the other's pillow. The younger looked at the other boy. He thought he was really cute. He caressed his face gently. Yoongi, who was focusing on the movie, flinched at his touch. He wasn't scared, he just didn't expect it. They stayed silent until the end of the movie. Hoseok didn't really understand much of it, but he didn't really care. All that was important to him was that it's a trilogy and that Yoongi's intention seemed to be watching them all in one sitting. Yoongi got up to put the second DVD in the player. Yeah, he still uses that thing. Maybe because it still meant something in his life. Maybe because it reminded him of something.
Once they were half an hour in the second movie, Yoongi sighed. He was thinking about stuff so, no, he wasn't paying attention to the movie. He was pondering about the thing with Seokjin. He was also thinking about Hoseok. He was slowly giving in to him. He didn't want to admit it even though, maybe, he should.
"So... You still wanna date me?" Yoongi asked, breaking the silence between the two.
"Um... Wha- Yes!" The younger said. He was kinda absent, that's probably because he was staring at Yoongi a bit too intensely.
"So... I kinda wanna date you." Yoongi said. "It might not work out but... We can try...? Maybe? If you want to, obviously."
"Gosh." Hoseok said. All this happened so suddenly. He wasn't really ready for this. "I'm speechless."
"Just say YES or NO." Yoongi said. He didn't like the feeling of waiting for the answer.
"Yes, of course." He said happily and hugged the other.
Hoseok was very happy about this. He was never happier in life, actually. Yoongi, on the other hand, was afraid. Afraid of many things. Afraid of messing up. Afraid of things not working out for them. Afraid of things ending up the same way they ended up with Seokjin. Afraid of getting his heart broken again. Afraid of losing Hoseok.
He lied down and rested his head on his personal sunshine's lap. He thought that it was an acceptable thing to do since now they were dating. And he wasn't wrong. Hoseok almost melted at the older's action. Yoongi thought that he had finally found the perfect pillow.
"That's honestly so cute." Hoseok said and laughed a little.
"I know, right?" Yoongi said and sighed. "So... What do couples do?"
"Well... They hang out together... See places, cuddle... Kiss..." Hoseok said vaguely. He wasn't completely sure of what he was saying.
"Kiss..." Yoongi repeated.
It didn't seem like a bad idea. Why shouldn't they? Yoongi got up from his laying position and looked at an empty spot in the room. After a minute, he turned around to look at the other.
"So... Should we kiss?" He asked.
"I-I..." The younger started. "I wouldn't mind."
"Good." Yoongi said and smiled softly.
Yoongi brought his face closer to the other slowly, until they lips met. Hoseok felt suddenly so happy. Yoongi did too. It was just a peck on the lips. It wasn't much, but it was very meaningful for both boys. Yoongi wouldn't mind staying like that forever, but he broke the kiss.
"Happy now?" Yoongi asked. "Because I am."
"I'm very happy now." Hoseok admitted.
"Let's go to sleep now." Yoongi said.
The two went to Yoongi's bedroom. Yoongi changed in his pajamas and gave Hoseok a shirt to sleep in. Hoseok noticed that nothing much changed since last time. There as the rose, that now was completely withered. It's not like it mattered. He kept it because it was symbolic, meaningful, and he liked Hoseok's sincerity. He really liked honest people. Well, he didn't hate them, actually. The real reason he still keeps that rose there is because he's lazy.
"Flowers wither with time." Yoongi said calmly, as he noticed Hoseok staring at the dead rose. "We all wither day by day. Everything does. Happiness... Love... Dreams..."
"You are depressing." The other said jokingly and laughed a little in an awkward manner. "But you're right." He added in a colder tone.
"That's the worst part." Yoongi said and lied down on his bed. "Let's sleep now."
"Okay."
They got under the blankets and turned off the lights. They didn't talk much. In fact, they spent the whole night listening to each other breathe. Yoongi thought it was very calming. Hoseok wrapped his arm around Yoongi and pulled him closer. The older smiled. For a second he thought he started dating a cute little koala. He wouldn't mind that, though. He always thought koalas are cute. To Hoseok's surprise, Yoongi hugged back and kissed him on the cheek. He wasn't an affectionate person, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to hug and kiss his boyfriend. Yoongi fell asleep, as his thoughts were wandering. He was really excited to see Namjoon's reaction to this. After a long time, he decided that he'd freak out and make a suggestive comment, before asking detailed questions.
The next day, the two boys seemed still very shocked about last night. It was understandable, though. They got dressed and ready for work. Yoongi went on the balcony to water his plants, but only after Hoseok made sure that Yoongi was warm by wrapping him in a warm blanket. He smiled softly as he lit his cigarette. Today was Yoongi's happy day, so he didn't feel like dying at all. He only felt like talking and smiling all day. He paid more attention to the people around him and Hoseok's heart-shaped smile.
"You look so cute today." Hoseok said and smiled.
"You look so cute today," Yoongi repeated to the other.
And that's when it happened. Hoseok's entire world fell apart in front of his eyes as a car passed. He couldn't believe what happened. His everything just... Got taken away from him. He simply fell on his knees and hugged what now was Yoongi's lifeless body.
