I have watched all 6 seasons of hetalia and the one movie and let me say
I'm gonna have to rewatch everything and observe the characters better if I want to write fanfictions or something. Like I have a basic understanding of the characters but I feel like I need to know more for that. Which I do have a hetalia account but I'm not telling you what it's called. Anyway, I have finished and I want to read the webcomics since I know the lord Hidekaz Himaruya still makes the webcomics, if they are made into manga still I have no idea, and I know for a definite fact it ain't made into an anime! I STILL NEED MY SEASON SEVEN!! Also another thing I want to address. Also maybe tiny spoiler warning so if you're thinking of watching hetalia or haven't finished it maybe skip until you see bold
So, some people in the fandom say the Germany isn't holy Rome. You've seen those people right? I have it's like an unpopular opinion in the fandom. But those people probably haven't finished it or something because guess what my history loving ass picked up in season six. They explain why Prussia is Germany's brother, and in it they say it was many tiny states THAT WAS THE HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE!!! Like!! Gerita canon! Anyway, I knew he was holy Rome before that because of a video called history of the entire world I guess. When talking about the Holy Roman Empire, a literal line was "it's actual Germany don't worry about it." Like, obvious actual real life proof! So either these people don't pay attention, or they just don't want to believe. And if you're going to go "but hetalia isn't always historically accurate." Then here's some character traits they both share. Their looks, obvious one, but not just the blue eyes and blonde hair because that's like in almost all characters. But the way Holy Rome styles his hair is distinct with Germany's hair style and we've also seen both characters with their hair not slicked back AND ITS THE SAME STYLE!!! Ok, there's like one other major factor besides little things I could nitpick and it's there love of grandpa Rome. I know that seems weird the way I wrote it. But think about it. Holy Rome was technically formed when the pope gave rule to the king of the frank Turks, which are early Germans. (That's all I know of the history without thinking I'm gonna be inaccurate.) He was formed to become the NEW ROMAN EMPIRE!! HENCE THE NAME!! He liked the idea of becoming that new sense of power. And who remembers the episode where grandpa Rome visited Germany? Germany knew some much about the history of Rome and is an obvious fan of the history and the idea of having control like that. Germany has the same knowledge that Holy Rome should've had considering why he was formed.
ANYWAY BACK TO MY OPINIONS AND QUICK SUM UP OF HETALIA BECAUSE I LOVE IT!!!
Honestly, hetalia is amazing and since I'm on a road trip I will be rewatching it on the way home. I do really want to find the webcomics and I'm pretty sure in the credits the DVD told me where I could find it. Anyway, highly recommend this anime if you haven't watched it. Also the last episode the DVD had my end on was the Hetaween episode. So the ending was perfect. Anyway I have an hour left until we get to the hotel so I'll probably just write. Ciao!
