"[y/n], dearie, pleased to hear from you." Mr. Gold was as polite as ever. I wished this were just a friendly call, but the man had found me again.

"Mr. Gold," I was running and panting - turning corners and barely escaping, "I need help."

"What can I do?" He was so genuine. And worry tinted his words.

"Are you still at your shop?" It was only three blocks from me - I could make it there. I was hoping above all hopes that'd he'd still be there.

"I'm doing inventory - yes, I'm still here, dearie. Do you need to stop in?"

"Yes, I'm two blocks away now," my heart filled with hope. "Please unlock the door for me."

I hung up the phone and attempted to run past my fatigue, but I wasn't quick enough - my pencil skirt was restricting my gate. The man grabbed my shoulder as I ran past a dumpster. He threw me backwards and I hit my head hard. All of a sudden, the man was on top of me. I strained my eyes but couldn't see my attacker due to the dark. He grabbed at my blouse and tore it open.

I screamed, yelling for help. I threw punches, but he blocked them. Finally, he sat up off my legs just enough for me to knee him hard in his jewels. As he recoiled in pain, I punched his nose then shoved him away from me.

I sprinted around a corner, and made it into Mr. Gold's shop. Right after locking the door, I crouched under the window. Within seconds I saw Dr. Whale run by. I gasped, and - though I'm sure he didn't hear me - he looked straight at me.

His eyes were filled with drunken rage, and I was thankful I'd made it inside. Knowing he couldn't break into Mr. Gold's shop, he slowly turned around and left. I let out a sigh of relief.

When I looked up, Mr. Gold was there with an outstretched hand. I gratefully took it then plunged myself into his arms. He held me tight and I tried not to cry - at least, not to cry too much.

"[y/n], dearie, what just happened?" He held me tightly. I could feel his arms wrapped around my waist. My chest was on his and our hearts seemed to beat as one. His collar bone was on my right cheek and I steadied myself by listening to his breath, which rhythmically flowed against the other side of my face.

"[y/n]?" I turned my eyes towards his, our noses touched. His gaze locked intently with mine and I became lost in the moment. His hand cupped my cheek and I leaned into his touch. "Are you okay?"

"Hmm?" I blinked and looked down on myself - suddenly remembering what had happened. I felt the terror of the previous hour creeping back on me. My heart quickened, my breath became shallow. I grabbed my blouse and began to feel sick.

"I... Granny's... Whale..." I could feel the hot tears well up in my eyes and my throat closed tight. I tried to choke out what happened but nothing made sense. Then the room began to spin and grow dark.

"Dearie?"

"Dearie?"

"Dearie?"

"Yes, love?" I said spinning towards my dear Rumpelstiltskin. I fluffed my skirt and walked to him. Wrapping my arms around him, we embraced and shared a passionate kiss. After breaking away, he ran his hands down my back and gazed into my eyes.

"You, dearie, are quite lovely." He had a warm smile on his face. "Are you ready for tomorrow?"

"The only way for me to be more ready for tomorrow is if it were today." I kissed him again and pulled him tight against me. I thoroughly enjoyed his warmth. "I can't wait until I'm called Mrs. Rumpelstiltskin."

I wanted to hold onto my dream, but the commotion around me drew my attention. I could hear Mary and Emma talking with Mr. Gold. They seemed to be arguing.

"You let her walk at night alone?" Mr. Gold sounded agitated. "And she was feeling unwell?" His tone was crisp and pointed. There was a long silence and I took the opportunity to open my eyes and glance around.

"You're okay?" Mary ran to me and hugged me tightly. When I winced in pain, she backed away. "I'm so sorry - are you okay?"

My eyes had to squint due to the bright light around me. "I'm fine. Where am I?" It smelled like bleach and felt cold.

"We're at the hospital," Mr. Gold was sitting next to me. I went to look at him and realized I was in a hospital bed. "You fainted shortly after reaching my shop. I took you to the hospital to make sure you're okay."

"Thank you." I sat up, looking down I saw a sweater had been placed over my torn blouse. I looked to Mr. Gold appreciative of all he'd done for me. "Thank you for everything."

Suddenly my stomach cramped and nausea overcame me. I ran to the bathroom and spent much time in there throwing up and cleaning myself up. When the room stopped spinning, I returned to the others.

"Mary, Emma - you have nothing to apologize for." I gave them a weak smile. "It's not your fault. Please go and get some rest. It must be late by now."

Mary hesitated but when I insisted they headed out. Emma was going to drive Mary to the apartment before going to her room at Granny's hotel. They asked me to get better soon, and I said I would.

Once they left the room, I turned back to Mr. Gold. "If you need to go, I understand." I sat back on the bed and hoped he'd stay.

"Dearie, I'm not leaving until I'm certain that you're okay." He remained seated but gave me a slight smile. The doctor came in shortly after.

"Hello, Ms. [y/n], I heard you had quite a night. I'm Doctor Jill Hill." The doctor pulled out a notepad. "I heard that you were experiencing some pain and about an hour later fainted. Could you provide some more details?"

I nodded and told her how I'd felt dizzy, fatigued, and nauseous throughout the day. I told her how I'd left my friends early due to feeling under-the-weather. I explained that I'd been chased but escaped, and I felt dizzy after reaching Mr. Gold's house. I explained that I woke up in the hospital bed then got sick shortly after.

The doctor nodded throughout my story, and Mr. Gold stayed in his chair. His jaw clenched when I told about the man who nearly caught me. I wiped my tears and rubbed my stomach, hoping my nerves would calm down.

"Well, [y/n], I'm sorry you've had such a traumatic night." Doctor Jill looked sympathetically to me. "Let's run some tests to check on your health."

They had me do a urine test then a blood test. Mr. Gold stayed in the room and waited for me during each. As I waited for the results, he bought me soup and spoke to me about the upcoming play and dance rehearsal. I could forget about all my worries when I was with him.

Eventually Doctor Jill came back with a large smile across her face, but what she said wiped the joy off of mine. She cleared her throat and announced "Congratulations, [y/n], you're pregnant."
