Chapter 21 "Fire From Her Wrath"

A ton of sirens can be heard in the distance.
Dean and Sam are trying their hardest to get Shaylynn back from the debris.
"I need to get to Kelly!" she yells with tears streaming down her face as she picks up more.
"Damn it, Shaylynn STOP!" Sam tells her, "This isn't helping Kelly any!" she says as the sirens get closer.
"Let the three companies handle this!" Dean tells her as Firehouses 109, 38, and 95 pull up.
All of them rush out of their trucks, gear up, and run over to the building.
All three of the Fire Chiefs see Shaylynn upset and come walking over.
"We'll get them out!" Chief Howard of 109 tells her.
"All of 51 are tough SOB's!" Chief Mathis of 38 says.
"Especially your husband!" Chief Vance of 95 tells her.
Their words don't make Shaylynn feel any better. Sam takes her and starts leading Shaylynn over to her car.
As they get closer to the car, Shaylynn stops, looks up to the sky and yells out in rage.
Sam grabs Shaylynn's arms and leads her the rest of the way.
Sam opens the back door so Shaylynn can sit down, "I want Ian Grey!" Shaylynn tells Sam with a snarl.
"Did you know him in the military?" Sam asks her.
"I didn't know him personally, but every officer had heard of him and knew what he was capable of!" Shaylynn tells her, "When he's found, he's mine!" Shaylynn tells Sam with a pissed off glare.
Sam is just about to say something when Shaylynn stops her, "And don't tell me you don't know if you can do that! Just look the other way and Grey will disappear!"
Shaylynn wipes the tears from under her eyes, "Sam, I can't go through this again! I can't lose another husband!"
Sam bends down and gives her sister a hug, "I know! Why don't you lay down in the backseat. I'll start up the car to keep you warm. When I get any news I'll come and let you know!"
"Promise?!" Shaylynn asks her.
"Promise!" Sam says.
Shaylynn puts her legs inside the car, Sam shuts the door. She then opens the driver's door and starts up the car. After closing the door, she walks away.
Shaylynn lays down in the backseat. Thinking about Severide trapped, she starts crying more.

Four hours go by.
The back door to Sam's car opens, a hand reaches in and touches Shaylynn's leg.
Shaylynn starts to stir, she looks down at the open door and sees Severide staring back at her.
Quickly making her way out of the car, Shaylynn wraps her arms around his neck and starts crying again.
"It's okay, Babe! I'm alright!" Severide tells her.
Shaylynn quickly opens her eyes and looks around to see all of 51 has made it out. Over in the distance, she sees Dawson hugging on Casey.
"I thought I lost you!" Shaylynn says into his ear.
It dawns on Severide that he and the rest of 51 were trapped in a building, just like Marshall and his company was.
Shaylynn moves her head and starts kissing him, Severide pulls his head back, "I'm dirty!" he tells her.
"I don't care!" Shaylynn tells him using a hand to push his head back against her.
After a minute, Shaylynn steps back, "You need to get looked at!" she tells him grabbing his hand and leading him over to one of the many ambulances that are now on the scene.

Across the way, Dean is talking to Chief Mathis, "Where did you find them?" Dean asks.
"The stairwell system in the building is made out of concrete. 109 found Truck and Boden under the stairs on the ground floor while 38 and 95 found Squad and Engine down in the basement under the stairs" Chief Mathis tells him.
Dean looks over at everyone, "Thankfully everything turned out! I can't imagine if it didn't!" he says looking over at Shaylynn standing with Severide who's sitting on a bumper of an ambulance.

After the Firefighters are looked over and treated for any cuts, etc they're given the choice to leave or go to Med.
All of them choose to leave.
Shaylynn kisses Severide before he gets onto the Squad truck. All of 51 pulls away and drives off.
Dean puts his hand on her shoulder, "When we get back, just go home! If I need you, I'll call!" he tells her.
Shaylynn nods to him and walks over to the Impala as Sam walks up to Dean, "You'll let me know what's found, right?" Dean asks her.
"Yes!" Sam says, "But I'm pretty sure Shaylynn already knows this was either Hicks or Grey!" Sam tells him.
"It doesn't matter who did this! We have to make sure they don't come under fire from her wrath!" Dean says.
"Agreed!" Sam says.
"I better get Shaylynn back! I told her just to go home!" Dean tells her.
"I'm sure that would be best for her!" Sam says, "I'll talk to you later!" she says and walks away.
Dean walks over to the Impala and gets in. He starts it up and drives off back to the DHS building.
