Haunted

Hello Munchkins! Happy New Year!

I'm not really much of a "New Year, New Me" kind of person but I do think that now is the perfect time to renew your mind and enhance the beautiful person that I know you are ☺️☺️.

I know that many of you are probably wondering what's going on with Haunted and why chapter updates more scarce than a total solar eclipse. This message is to explain to you guys what's been going on with me and why I've been neglecting my baby (to be clear I mean Haunted, not you guys. Haunted is my baby, you guys are my Munchkins).

The bottom line is Haunted isn't fun to write anymore, lately it's been feeling more like an obligation and not something that I do for enjoyment. I've been planning and plotting Haunted for years now and I just feel like the novel has lost its flavor. After years of outlines, character sketches, chapter outlines, searching for symbols, motifs, life lessons and stuff like that. I still feel like I don't know where the story is going. The same flame that I had to get the message across and write like the wind, has been extinguished 😔😔.

I've been doing a lot of thinking, praying, and soul searching and I've come to the conclusion that I am just... not a Romance writer 😣😣.

FUN FACT: I actually hate Romance! I'm not mushy or sappy or lovey-dovey! In fact this is my face whenever I read, watch, or experience anything romantic 🙄🙄🤢🤢.

When I first began planning out Haunted I was a different person. And the person that I am now has decided to stop lying to herself. The person I used to be loved romance (and no I didn't go through some horrible break-up and now I've given up on love completely...relax 😂😂.)

Don't get me wrong, I do like certain romances and fairy tales and stuff like that. But only if it's sugar coated with mythology and fantasy themes. I love Fantasy and Sci-Fi novels! If you look through my library you'll see a plethora of Werewolf novels! I just don't think the whole "bad boy meets shy girl" thing is realistic any other way. I like books that tell a story and teach a lesson! It's my goal to read a book and be changed afterwards! In fact some of my favorite novels do that very same thing... Divergent (series), 1984 by George Orwell, Lord of the Rings (series), The Hunger Games (series... I'm Team Gale btw ♥️♥️ ...Peeta is too needy 😂😂) all of these authors aspire to change the perspective of their audience while giving them an amazing and entertaining story. And if you've ever read any of the books listed, then you know exactly what I'm talking about. I like feeling attached to the characters and mourning for a week after they die! I like sitting on the edge of my seat when an author decides to throw in a game changer or a cliff hanger! I like books that excite me!

And that is the kind of writer that I aspire to be. I want to teach, to inspire, to encourage, to awaken my readers while simultaneously providing them with entertainment. My favorite part of writing has always been creating new worlds...and if I continue to write Romance novels, I feel like I can't do that...and that, in turn sucks the fun out of writing! I want to create new worlds, and new realities and for the longest I've felt stuck because I couldn't do that. But now I feel like I can! I'm going to write Fantasy and Sci-Fi (Science Fiction)! And for once, I'm excited for the change and I hope you guys will continue to support me on my journey!

With that being said, I'm not giving up on Haunted completely! I just have to find a way to thrust it into the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre (I'm thinking werewolves, or maybe even fairies...🤔🤔 ) and until I can figure out how to do that Haunted will be On Hold.

And in case you are wondering what prompted this change...it was the fact that I began to plot  new novel in this genre (that among other things. It will be called Unchained and let me just say...you guys ARE NOT ready for it! I'm not even reedy for it and I'm the one writing it 😂😂. It needs lots of work and I should probably start on the drafts...but I am excited for it (see...I've been a Fanatsy/Sci-Fi writer for all of twenty minutes and I already feel a radical change of attitude!) 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Unchained will most likely be released (on Wattpad) in March of 2018! I'm super excited and I thank you guys for all of the continued support.

Goodbye Haunted. I won't forget you, I promise ♥️♥️😘😘 *kisses three fingers and holds them up*.
