1 - THE PAST AND THE PRESENT

6 YEARS AGO

Everyone wanted a love life like Jeon Min Gi and Kang Daniel. They were the perfect couple, always taking care of each other, always sharing their food with each other, always asking each other how was their day.

It was just like any other usual day. Daniel bringing his favourite girl to their favourite place, the field at the other end of Daniel's house. The place was very pretty, the grass was greeny, the trees were dancing with the wind. It just made Min Gi happy and everytime she would always dance along with the trees like they were her friends. The tall trees blocked the sunlight from invading the peaceful field, but the sunlight would naturally find its own way into the field.

Min Gi and Daniel were talking and laughing happily, just like any other day. But a change of tone in Daniel's words halted the happy conversation. "Min Gi," That's what Daniel said that stopped Min Gi. "Yes?"

"Min Gi, promise me, that you will always stay by my side. Promise me you will eventually find your way back to me, if we have to separate. Promise me you will always love me," Daniel said, holding Min Gi's hands in his, looking into Min Gi's eyes passionately.

"O-of course, Daniel. Why are you like this?" Min Gi sounded worried.

Daniel took Min Gi in his arms. Min Gi wanted to pull away to see what's wrong with Daniel. Daniel held onto her and didn't let her escape. Min Gi heard Daniel sobbing and stayed in that position, comforting him. After a few moments, Daniel let go and looked at Min Gi in the eyes.

Min Gi saw the sparkle in Daniel's eyes. This is how Daniel looks like after crying. I can't bear to see him crying again.

It was the last day of school for Min Gi and Daniel. Min Gi thought they were going to see each other again but Daniel still do not have the guts to tell Min Gi. "Min Gi, I have to move to Seoul. Promise me you will never forget me because one day we will meet again. I am really really sorry and I love you so much. Punish me really bad when you meet me again for this. I will always love you, promise me you will remember that. I know I am a coward telling you this over the phone. I promise we will meet again," Daniel said and cried over the phone.

"What? What?! After everything we have been through together you want to leave me now? And how can you be so certain we will meet again?! Do not leave me, please" Min Gi shouted but cried in defeat in the end. Daniel did not want to hear his love crying, and hung up the phone. Daniel knew it was very rude of him to hang up the phone just like that. Min Gi was speechless, confused and angry. Tears were started to form in her eyes. Min Gi quickly grabbed her jacket and ran to Daniel's house. When she reached there, all she could do is knock and knock while crying. Daniel had left her. Min Gi cried non-stop that night and for the remaining days. She stayed in her room and only went out to eat once a day. Her parents were worried. She hated Daniel so much for just leaving like that. She hated Daniel. A lot.

PRESENT

Being a kindergarten teacher is really stressful for Min Gi, one mistake and you can get scolded by the principal but she enjoy looking at all the innocent faces of the children. She wanted children to have a good start in their life, thus, she chose to be a kindergarten teacher after graduating from college. After college, she decided to move to Seoul alone. She still thinks about Daniel occasionally when little things remind her of him, like an old song. Min Gi was scared to fall in love again, eventhough a ton of guys were chasing her from high school to college. She changed her style, an attempt to try chase the guys away. But it did not work, she was really pretty, be it long hair or short hair, her clothing style. Tonight was one of the nights where Min Gi had Daniel in her mind and her heart. Her mind was spinning but her heart was aching for him. Her eyes were searching for him.

I won't ever meet someone like Daniel again. He's the only guy in my heart. He was a nice guy, the one and only bad thing he did was to leave me. You asked me not to forget you, but I am wondering here do you even remember me? Everything has changed now. Even if I were to see you again, it will never be like the past. It has been a long and unbelievable 6 years. I was happy sometimes, I was sad sometimes, I was scared sometimes, I was confused sometimes. I used to never want to see the light of day. I was an idiot, for doing that. But I was even more an idiot for falling for you, Kang Daniel! Min Gi wrote her sorrows on a notebook.

Daniel had always wanted to be a pilot who skates to work every morning, and today, he is living his dream. He is a first-officer pilot now who works for Korea Airlines. Well, he does not really skate to work but he does skate during his off-days.

One day when Min Gi feels very stressed and sad, she walked way back home. She felt the breeze goes against her and look around her surroundings. A restaurant caught her attention. Cat's Sushi.

Min Gi knew that someone like Daniel would visit that restaurant. Min Gi ran to the shop and opened the door. She looked around, hoping to see Daniel. "Hello, may I help you?" someone asked. He had pink hair and his eyes were pretty. Min Gi smiled and laughed before shouting "Is there anyone whose name is Daniel here?" Min Gi felt stupid for doing that.

"Somebody looking for me?" That voice, it became deeper. And Min Gi looked up, saw a whole different Daniel.
