Five Nights at Freddy's

Prologue: Freddy Fazbear's Pizza

Hi. I'm Mike Schmidt ... a 32-year-old, lazy college student in desperate need of a job.

I had been trying to find a job for about a month and a half at the time. I had applied for barista, gas station attendant, cashier, bank teller, and librarian. I missed the barista interview, I couldn't stand the gas station manager and refused that job, I was turned down from both the cashier job and the bank teller job, and the librarian job was boring. I had almost given up on finding a job when my roommate and childhood friend Josh came rushing into the dining room, newspaper in hand.

"Hey, man! I think I got you a great job! Check it out!" He slapped the newspaper down on the table in front of me and said, "What do you think?" I looked the ad over. "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza?Come on, Josh ... $120 a week? That's only $4 an hour... it's underpaid." Josh sighed and said, "Mike, it's night guard duty ... you just sit there all night, watching inanimate objects ... perfect for a guy as lazy as you." I thought about it, sighed, and said, "Well, I always did like that place as a kid ...Fine ... I'll call and see if I can get an interview ... happy?"

I showered and got dressed in a black t-shirt, some khaki pants, and some sneakers ... hey ... I had nothing else in my closet fit for an interview ... and I caught a cab to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. When I got there, a girl about my age greeted me and led me to the office. I was passing the stage on the way to the office, where the animatronics Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chick, and Freddy Fazbear were performing when I had an extremely vague memory from my childhood of what seemed to be a birthday party at this very restaurant. When I sat down in the office, the manager only asked me a few questions, then told me I was hired. I wasn't sure why he was so quick to hire me, but I figured I'd sign the contract the manager handed me and see how I liked the job, seeing as how I did need some form of income.
