3 Months Later...June 1st- Moving Day

Camille reached out to Galvin about the pregnancy situation but did not reveal to him who the father was. Seeing that he works with Dennis' wife so she felt it was appropriate to tell him rather his grandmother but it made her feel bad because Galvin admitted he was falling for her. Camille felt she could fall for him as well but instead she gave her attention to Dennis. She didn't want Galvin too involved into her mess nonetheless they decided being friends could do for them.

2 Months Earlier...

"Hello, I'm here to see Mr. Cooper" Camille was starting to show but thankfully for Renee's fashion skills, she was able to dress Camille in to a shawl dress with different color patterns lined across your pudge so you couldn't see it.

"Let me check if he's in today." Giselle his front desk secretary paged him letting him know Camille was here to see him. "He's in, you can go on back there."

"Thanks Giselle." Camille sighed strutting her shoulders back walking to his office.

"Come in."

Scratching the back of his head tucked in his lips watching Camille hand him an envelope.

"What's this?"

"Read it."

He mumbled to himself reading which happened to be his two weeks notice.

"You're leaving?"

"Yes, moving to Cali with my sister."

"Wait, what? Why?"

"She needs someone to live with her while she's working with the modeling agency. They provided housing for her but told her she needs a roommate 18+. I decided to be the one to go stay with her permanently."

"Wow, congratulations I guess but you haven't been working at the office for almost a month then you come in here with a two-week notice. I've reached out to you a couple of times to see how you were doing no response now you're leaving. Great Camille, just fucking great. I wish you nothing but the best."

"This is for the best for myself and future I'd appreciate it if you just leave it at that without involving your personal feelings. Now, if you'll excuse me I have to head home to pack. It was a pleasure working with you Dennis."

The hurt in both of their eyes could tell you how much love they have gained for one another knowing there was nothing they could do about it. Dennis got up out of his chair making his way to Camille squinting through her eyes, as if he could catch onto what she was hiding.

"Why are you running away?" Dennis blurted out.

"I am not running away. I have a life to live and being in New York isn't it for me. Now, if you'll excuse me like I said I have to go finish packing up." She pressed her index finger against his chest to leave space between them.

Camille dismissed herself out of his office without another word. Leaving Dennis to register what happened at that moment. His heart broke tucking his lips in to fight back his tears,  he knew what he had done was a huge mistake. I guess this time he could focus on his marriage alongside his journey into fatherhood.

Why couldn't I just tell him? Camille thought to herself while she inserted the keys into the ignition. She held back into her seat tears flowing from her eyes. Trembling while attempting to make a phone call to Melinda.

Hello?

I couldn't do it, Melinda. I couldn't do it.

Wait, what happened mami?

I dropped my two weeks notice off to Dennis. I was going to tell him about the baby but I just couldn't do it.

Ok, breathe babygirl, breathe. I know it's hard but you've got to tell him soon. I won't pressure you right now  eventually you're going to have to tell him.

Ah, I know so much was going on all at once.

At least you were able to drop off the notice instead of emailing it to him.

Yeah, I guess so. I'm hungry Mel, can we get..."

Chipotle!! Yes, we can let's meet up at Kings Plaza Shopping Center in BK.

Ok, I'll be there in 20.

Sweet, see you soon mami!

"Hi beautiful, I've already got your burrito bowl exactly how you like it." Melinda handed me my bowl greeting me with a side cheek kiss.

"Thank you babe. You're the best."

"No problem, the least I could do. How did it go?" She pointed to the empty table for us to sit.

"You know he made small talk then  I went straight to the point of me moving to California with Adaria. He asked me why I was going, etc of course he tried to make a move on me but I stopped him. Then I was getting ready to put on my big girl panties to announce my pregnancy out of nowhere my whole soul froze. I couldn't tell him, Melinda."

"Eventually, you will have to tell him but by then you'll already have the baby. Don't wait 10 years to tell him Camille or else I'll be snitching on your ass myself. Anyways, let's eat this bomb ass food so we can over to your place and finish up packing."

"I won't lie to you but I am super nervous about this move. Like I am moving across the country with my sister this is all new to us. Well, of course Adaria is super excited about all of this. I am so scared." I choked up on my tears.

Melinda frowned at me setting her fork down scooting next to me to hold me. "Ayi mami, it's going to be alright. I am always going to be here, your parents, Renee and Adaria. This is a new journey for you only because this is what you need. I rather you go than stay here being miserable."

"I agree with you.." I sniffled. "...I just thought this would be easier for me to tell him than it was telling my parents."

"Not everything in life will be easy."

I lost my appetite packing up my food for us to head on over to my house resume packing. It didn't take long for us to finish up , Adaria and I had an early flight to Los Angeles. Mom and Dad  suggested they ship  our belongings, we would be staying at an  Airbnb until we could settle into our apartment. Melinda took a few days off to fly down with us, Renee was coming down the following day.

The beginning of our future.... here we go!
